This is plastic like the ones they stopped selling with the saws because the flex and will ruin your material. Better to make one with wood than use this junk.

The Dada insert for my table saw worked exactly as advertised! It fit perfectly into the saw with no issues, and the quality is top-notch. I bought this for use with my Skil 10" table saw and Torquata metric dado set. I have been using it for a while now and it's OK. Would have been better if it was made of metal rather than plastic.Recommended for DIY users.

I thought that Skil would have given me a metal dado guard since the cost was high. $ 10 USD more than the plastic ones sold next to it.The plastic had one tiny metal support on the back end and the rest was just plastic and the one edge was warped so it did not set level with the table. The guard that came with the table saw is nice metal, except that the forward end was open so it was not as strong as could be if both ends were closed. But the original guard that came with the saw was strong and made of real metal. The table saw I just bought I like very much , it is very well built and the legs don't wobble like the Dewalt saw does.

The insert itself is not flat and does not sit flush with the table; one corner/side will always be proud of the tabletop if you try adjusting anything. You can adjust the set screws so that it will be flush if you placed pressure on it while cutting a piece of wood. But having this be a Skil branded product made for the table, it doesn’t sit well with me in terms of quality.

I would have preferred a metal plate but this plastic one is fairly sturdy and fits well on my Skil TS6307-00 table saw.

You need this if you plan to run a dado stack k in your skil table saw. Oem item so fit is very good ans it has all the clearance needed for my 8" dado stack.

It would be a great product if it's made of aluminum. The plastic is ok but more flimsy. BTW, the original insert on the Skil table saw is also plastic. This dado insert is a perfect match with 8" Diablo dado blades. It allows up to 5/8 inch of cutting width. The additional washer nut makes it possible.
