I ordered this little guy for my flowerbed and was very happy when it arrived. The quality seems a little nicer than most decor you'd pick up at a big box store with a nice weight and a decent paint job. At 8" tall, he is nearly the size of a real life squirrel.Very easy to set up. Simply pull it out of the box and hang the lantern. The solar cell charges during the day and at night the lantern switches on automatically. The lantern isn't very bright, but it does light up the squirrel itself which all I was hoping for. I especially like that this piece is made completely of resin. I expect he will stand up to the outside elements just fine. Nice decor for the price. Would recommend!

I thought this might be a cute little addition to my flower bed and it is. When I opened it I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It is very nicely painted and looks better than expected. It is kind of the perfect size — pretty much like a real squirrel (maybe a smaller squirrel but close enough).The lantern supposedly has a solar cell that causes it to light up at night. It wasn’t obvious to me that there was a solar cell though I eventually determined that is at the bottom of the lantern (bottom of the inside, not the underside). However in my case I did not see the lantern light up. Maybe I don’t have it placed such that it gets enough sunlight during the day. But if it did work, I wouldn’t expect it to be very bright as the solar cell surface is very small. But it is a great addition to the flower bed even without the light up battery.I was going to subtract a star for the lack of the lantern lighting up, but as it might be due to the light available to my unit and also that I don’t think the light up feature was important, I decided to I’ve it five stars.

This adorable squirrel holding a lantern looks great in any garden, flower bed or next to your front porch. The lantern it holds is solar, so you can turn it on, put it out & the sun will power it up for you. As soon as it starts getting dark, the lantern comes on. The squirrel is made of resin, but it will crack if you drop it on a hard surface; do be careful! It's in my garden, lighting up a dark corner of the house. I love this little fella & recommend him for any yard, sidewalk, garden, patio or wherever you need a light & a smile.
