So far so good! This is much larger than our Van Ness cat box with a covered hood. I've noticed my cat has to arch her back in our previous one, so I like this open top litter box better. It works well with the Johnny cat jumbo liners, and I put one bag of Scoop Away in from Costco, the one that comes in a four pack. I think it'll do better with two bags. Will update after a few weeks :)

As of now, I can't find anything I don't like about it. It's got a metal base that my cats can't scratch through. The top portion keep litter from being slung out. It has a place for the cat to run it's paw over before jumping out. It has a compact scooper that isn't flimsy that fits on the side. It fits well in our unused stand up shower, and has enough extra room for a small trash can to scoop the litter into as show in the picture. Oh and it comes with 8 pads that can be put underneath to keep it from damaging the floor.

I have plenty of my own cats (and litter boxes), but now I am keeping a cat for a friend temporarily and this poor cat had one of her rear paws cut off when she was rescued, so getting in and out of a litter box can be challenging as well as a little messy. This litter box, being open top, makes it easier for this cat (Pippin) to get in and out of. At first I was thinking the higher sides would cause Pippin problems, but she is able to hop in and out and in fact, the higher stainless steel sides definitely helps keep the litter in the box, which is another issue with some litter boxes that have lower sides. The stainless steel is easy to scoop because very little sticks to it, no scraping to get it clean. The plastic top adds higher sides, which is another plus, I don’t have litter shooting out across the floor, it all stays contained - a small but appreciated characteristic of this design.I have nothing but good things to say about this litter box. It is a good size, well made, well designed litter box that I think is a good choice for the money, considering all the fine qualities. If I see this same litter box with a lid completely covering the box, I will get it to replace one of my plastic ones. The only problem an open top litter box causes me is the fact I have a very large dog that at times may be tempted to check the box. I can’t allow that to happen, so unfortunately, I will probably have to let this litter box go home with Pippin when the time comes. Presently Pippin has her own bedroom that I have barricaded off… hopefully she will go home in a few months… I’ll miss her.

Nice and big litterbox. My cat loves it. I love that it doesnt absorb odors like the older plastic one I was using. The extra room makes it way easier to scoop too. I dont have a particularly big cat but he still enjoys the big box for the extra room he has now.

As a proud cat parent, I'm always on the lookout for products that make life easier for both me and my furbabies. The Stainless Steel Cat Litter Box with Lid has been a game-changer in our household, and I'm thrilled to share my personal review.First and foremost, the "XX-Large" claim is no exaggeration. This litter box is massive, providing ample space for even the most discerning felines to do their business comfortably. My 17-year-old cat, who can be quite particular, jumped right in without hesitation, which is a testament to its welcoming design. The very high sides are another huge plus - meeting the challenge of containing the urine of my Olympian of High Pee-ers. Other self-described high-sided boxes have failed.Cleaning is a breeze thanks to the stainless steel construction. Unlike plastic boxes that can harbor odors and scratches, this one wipes clean effortlessly and doesn't retain any unpleasant smells. The open "lid" attachment is well designed for high pee-ers that the urine doesn't go into the seams and out the sides. While I can't sing enough praises for this litter box, there is one potential drawback to consider: the entry height. For very young kittens or less mobile senior cats, the entry might be a bit too high. My own senior cat, while agile enough, did have to make a slight hop to get in. If you have a cat with mobility issues, you might want to consider a different model or provide a small ramp.Overall, if you're in the market for a durable, easy-to-clean, and spacious litter box that will make both you and your cats happy, the Stainless Steel Cat Litter Box with Lid is an excellent choice. Its pros far outweigh its cons, and I highly recommend it for households with active and able-bodied cats.Images note: the picture that shows the side by side with another box was a litter box that was originally an enclosed top-entry box. I cut an opening on the side so my cat could access it more easily, and half his body would be outside the box.

My cats are not always happy with change but they adapted quickly to this new little box. I think because it’s metal and not typical plastic, there is no chemical smell to throw them off. Came with a bonus scooper! Would recommend!
