I've had this Briggs engine at least 30 years. The Carb had begun leaking and we had a strong gas smell in the garage, plus the water heater is gas, so I need to stop the leak. Turns out what the carb needed was new gaskets all around. So this kit did the trick. New valves too. Cranks on first pull every time!

It's ok kit. BUT the float valve will not close under any circumstances. No amount of float adjustment has caused the float valve to close. Gasoline runs out like a seive.

Nozzle tube did not work properly.. Had to install the original to make the engine run properly. The gaskets were fine.Better off to just get the gaskets and use the original tube or get an OEM Briggs Nozzle/emulsion tube.

I purchased this kit to rebuild the carburetor on my super tomahawk chipper (8 hp briggs). The kit had everything that I needed however; there were two choices for the bowl gasket and neither of them was an exact match to the original. I took a gamble and elected to use the gasket that I felt was the closest match. After much foul language, a struggle with properly seating the main jet, more foul language, and the discovery of a bad spark plug; the engine fired and ran perfectly.

I bought this kit to rebuild the original carburetor on a 8 HP Briggs & Stratton engine. The kit has all the parts needed plus many extra ones for other carburetor models, the first thing to do is to match the parts for your carburetor and set aside the other ones. Next, the parts in the kit have to be compared carefully to the original ones. I had to rework the needle valves threads, they were the correct pitch but the outside diameter was too big. The needle valve springs had the opposite problem -- the inside diameter was too small, I reused the original ones. I can accept that the needle valve threads were not exactly as the original ones but there is no excuse for the springs in the kit not to fit the needle valves in the same kit. The good news is that the rebuild carburetor is OK, the engine runs fine.

Engine ran fine and carb stopped leaking after installing this kit. The air mixture screw had different threads than the one it replaced. It was oversized for my application. I had to re-tap it. Otherwise, the kit worked perfectly, everything fit and the kit contained everything needed to rebuild my 8 hp briggs horizontal shaft engine carb

This was used for an old Briggs and Stratton 8hp engine. All the parts installed and worked perfect. Be advised, this kit doesn't include a new float, but my float was fine anyway. If you have a brass float, just shake it to see if any liquid is inside of it. If there is, the float is bad. Most plastic floats don't have this issue. This was a high quality parts kit that fit perfect.
