Much of the description for this item is just plain wrong. The MT09 photo shown in the description is not the current model (it's the prior version sold in 2017-20) and this doesn't plug and play into the current model (21+) as the plugs are completely different. Photo shows the type of plugs the bike needs on top and what is on this item at bottom (the gray ones). You will have to do some cutting and splicing to make this work. The license plate light comes with no plug at all (it actually needs one of the gray ones). The mounting base appears to be some type of acrylic and the manufacturing cuts are left fairly rough (see photo). This doesn't affect anything but doesn't inspire confidence. There are no instructions at all and given the hacked up English you usually get that's not a bad thing. You really just need a photo of the finished item to see how it screws together. It's all very easy except for two blinker retention rings that go on the rubber blinker mounts. It takes a bit of effort to squeeze them on the metal assembly. You'll need a tool. The metal parts of this are fine given the low price but it's just falsely described and if you don't want to do some electrical work you should avoid it. Last photo shows it on my XSR 900 (a sister bike to the MT09).Note that this fits fine on the XSR 900 though I had to enlarge two of the mounting bracket holes to line up everything right. I don't know if they're also slightly off on the MT09 as well.
