I have had this since May 16 and as of September 2 it won't work. Just stopped charging my laptop and displaying the attached monitors. Try another brand, this one stinks!

oddly enough works exceedingly well first attempt on both ubuntu and proton linux, but will fail to detect properly on Windows even after an OS reimaging and you will need to keep plugging it in and out in order to properly detect for up to several minutes. some days, however, it will work first try.the manufacturer's website also does not contain any firmware apart from networking functionality and unfortunately i am too long past the initial purchase to return this. i advise against it considering my experience thus far.

Took several tries to find a dock that allowed "alt mode" display so Fusion 360 and Draftsight could utilize the GPU on my Dell Vostro 7500 laptop. This one works. Laptop does charge via usb but complains that is low power.

Has an occasional hiccup when resuming from sleep that requires unplugging and replugging thunderbolt cable. Otherwise works well.

Bought this specifically because the tech specs said it supported 3 monitors. It does not do that.

I bought this for my new MSI laptop and this was one of the only docking stations that support USB-C Gen 2 with DP which my laptop has. Connected it all up and no video from either DP or HDMI. Windows doesn't even recognize that a monitor exists. Went to Targus' website for help only to find that the manual and drivers for this lead to dead links. No support available either. Maybe it is a defective unit, or some kind of weird incompatibility with my laptop, but it is going back.

This dock will indeed push 2 4k 60hz screens. But often, after recovering from your monitor going to sleep, one of the monitors just will not come back online. It shows it connected in display manager, but the monitor just flashes on and off. Sometimes you can disconnect the monitor cable and reconnect it to get it back on, but often it still doesn't work. I find that I generally have to reboot to fix it.Also, the speaker cable is on the front which looks terrible. It seems like a poor design choice to run my speaker cable around to the front of the dock to have use of my speakers. I understand why they did it as the back is packed pretty tight with ports but honestly I would have rather have it .25 inches longer than have the cable wrap issue.

About the item:This dock does not work with macboks for dual or triple display setups, if you want to extend on all of them. It can MIRROR to all the connected monitors or extend to ONE external monitor and mirror that display onto the other monitors. Also, I needed to plug in my Macbook (Pro 13-inch) to an independant power source. If I used the dock to supply the power, I would get a warning that said that 'more power was needed for the accessory' (or something like that). This despite the dock promising to supply 85W PD.I also tried it on my Chromebook and that was even worse - the dock would restart the Chromebook whenever I plugged or unplugged the USB-C connector cable to/from the Chromebook!! So it would seem that this dock is meant solely for Windows systems but I didn't test that out much. I stopped using it the moment I realized it wouldn't work on Macbooks OR Chromebooks. One other thing that irked me was that the USB-C cable needs to be screwed on to the back of the dock - that was a little frustrating because these are really small screws. I could insert the end maybe half-way into the dock before the screws would block. Then I would have to turn the screws all the way in - one by one - until the cable was fully inserted into the dock. For all I know, it might be a terrific docking station for windows laptops...but it for sure isn't ready for other systems. I'm returning this item.About the Seller:I bought this from a marketplace seller (Canada Direct) and they were awesome! I received the item in 2 days even though the original estimate was for a little longer. And this despite the pandemic lockdown and extended shipping times going on! The item was packaged well and there were no damages. Very pleased with the delivery :)However, I'm trying to return the item for the reasons mentioned above. Let's see how that goes. I'll update this review if I find issues while dealing with them on this.
