I like the design and size. However, the lid does not easily shut or open. Force has to be applied in order to open or close it because the shape of the lid does not quite align with the shape of the base.

These are just wonderful! I bought them to hold beeswax tealights I am giving as gifts and these boxes fit 6, perfectly! Loved them so much, I picked up a few more to keep on hand for gifts. Thanks!

Good value for the price. It is made of soft wood, like cypress, so that it is easy to work with if using as a project box. I used mine as a home for a hurdy gurdy music box that I got at a local museum. I drilled a hole in the front, then widened it with a Dremel sanding drum. I extended the crank out the front and glued the box to the bottom of the chest. Even with the lid closed the sound is greatly amplified as you turn the crank. Without the enclosure, the sound is barely audible, but echoing inside the sound is amplified very much. Very impressive. See attached photos.
