I installed a red light on my trailer hitch rack as an added safety feature since the rack had no lights or reflective material on it. My problem was that the light I installed had a short cord on it that would not reach the trailer light outlet on my car hitch. I only needed about 15" but this extension easily solved my problem and it works well. The extra length is easy to wrap around the rack's center tube to keep it safely out of the way. It's easy to connect and disconnect, as needed and it's easy to remove entirely if I want to use it for some other application.

I needed an extension for 2 of my tow vehicles that had the 4-wire connector installed when I took possession. Since the connectors functioned perfectly, there was no need to go into the wiring and rewire, just use an extension. I started to use a flat connector for the extension when I stumbled across this one. It serves my purpose well and is easy to coil to shorten the length (if required to keep from dragging). I noticed one extremely critical of the tight fit. Yes, it is a tighter fit than with flat connectors. I'd much rather have this tight fit than a loser fit or intermittent connections resulting in a visit with law enforcement because the lights quit working since the connectors didn't fit tight enough for full functionality while in motion. Peace of mind is a good thing. Yes, I would purchase again (and will purchase a different version again if I need a different length).

I am adding a wiring plug to my RV tow dolly that pulls my car and uses magnetic rear taillights. Since the wiring will be on the exterior of the tow dolly the wires need adequate protection. This extension has good protection for the wiring and should last longer than just the 4 wires with the thin covering. The wiring is sealed on both ends to the plugs and has almost a thin 3 prong extension cord feel that gives me confidence it will last a long time.

Great cable to go from boat trailer to car. My car has the standard 4 pin plug and this cable looks nice and sleek plugged in. Only took 1 star off because it is a bit of a tight fit and struggle to plug and unplug in. Might just be a bit of a tolerance issue. Don't forget to throw some electrical grease on the terminals to protect from corrosion.

I purchased this 10' length of trailer wiring so I could install a retractable tongue kit on a Malone MicroSport trailer. The trailer was originally wired from front to back but in order to retract the tongue one has to detach the wiring midway on the trailer.I was looking for a quick-connect type solution and this is what I came up with. I selected this wiring harness over others primarily because the wires had an extra layer of insullation. This was important because this 10' section runs on the inside of the tongue and I think the basic wire insullation could eventually wear through and I wouldn't know about it until I experienced a short.I also have a magnetic TowMate light kit that I want to be able to add to back-middle of the trailer for additional lights when I haul items that may hang over the trailer's tail lights. To solve for this I added a 4-pin Y splitter connector adapter so I could connect that to the end of this wiring harness and supply power to both the trailer's lights and the TowMate.The quality and flexibility of this wiring harness seems really good. The only aspect of the design I would change is to have a dust cap at both ends. There is currently only one at the tail end and not on for the connector that plugs into the vehicle.If I experience any issues down the road I'll update the review.

I got tired of everyone tearing up the trailer attachment and associated wiring so I rewired the trailer and permanently attached the attachment plug to the trailer. This cable is the perfect length to go to the truck to trailer attachment caps and still be long enough to maneuver the trailer. The cable is fairly heavy duty with molded attachment caps so I’m hoping that the days of trashing out the trailer lighting is behind us.
