We had fun making them. Here's a tip we learned: use a big plastic drop cloth and cover WAY more space than you think you need to. We were careful but those splatters are sneaky little buggers.

I have my own home daycare business and I decided to do tie dye with the group this summer. I picked out the colors I wanted, read all the reviews, read how to articles all over the Internet before starting. Asked parents to provide all white 100% cotton tshirts and ordered one for each of my own family members.I bought two kits. This one and the same tulip brand with bright pink, bright blue, and purple. Together I dyed 11 shirts using 4 bottles, and that was cutting it slim. Should have used 5 bottles for this many shirts, so there would be less white. I dyed 1 large male adult, 2 small female adult, and 8 small kid shirts. My picture shows all but 1 shirt.I used bright pink, navy blue, light blue, and purple. I ran the shirts through a quick cold cycle on the washing machine with no detergent, just so they would be damp while applying rubber bands and dying. I filled just below the black line on the bottles. Some of the bottles leaked around the lid. I rubber banded and used zip ties when I ran out of the kit provided rubber bands. This kit did come with zip ties and string too.I took them outside in the grass right away while they were still damp and with gloves on squirted the fabric with the dye. Put them in a bag, and kept them in the shade under my deck for nearly 24 hours. This was a hot day, was about 80-90 degrees in the shade. Low of 70 overnight.Next day we took them out and sprayed them with the hose. Brought inside and I put them in the kitchen sink and unbanded and rinsed more with cold water. Then filled the sink with hot water and synthrapol and a ton of dye came out while I mixed around. Drained the sink and did same thing again. Then brought them to the washing machine and did quick hot cycle with more synthrapol. Then after that cycle I did one more cold cycle with regular detergent and fabric softener. Then threw it in the dryer. This was the result! Im excited to dye more with my two remaining colors and will definitely use this brand again. Only draw back is I wish there was more dye, the pink had spots of red (probably didn't mix well enough), and bottles leaked. Just need to be extra careful with that.

This Tulip product is great. Today I want to make pastels so will water down the liquid into other bottles collected.BTW, I keep reading this dye doesn't last after a few hours! Not True. I had some for a YEAR, used it and it was fine, just not as bright as the first time, but totally fine. I believe the key is soaking your fabric in Soda Ash first.

Works well, easy to do. Comes out lighter than expected, and once you add water and mix the dye, you have to use it or lose it, so it's wasted if you only want to die one thing. One bottle did a scarf, two bags and a t-shirt.

I had so much fun with this easy-to-use kit over the summer. It was super easy to use and the items that I made came out great. I've had them tie-dyed for a few months now and the color is still holding up good!

I never have issues with Tulip one step. Love these colors, I did not be Shibori but I just get traditional tie dye but the colors are awesome (the gray was a little weird) but still awesome

Love this product. Was super easy to do with the kids. Make sure to wear the gloves because it will stain your hands. Once we applied all of the color, we put in a plastic bag for 2 days and then rinsed the shirts out. We were able to do 3 kid shirts, 2 adult shirts and a linen dish towel with this kit. I like that these colors are not loud colors, more natural looking.
