I ordered this tulip rainbow tie dye kit because I wanted something fun to dye my reverse tie dye. The colors are beautiful and vibrant. The entire set is very easy to use, and it does make it easy to put the colors where you want them. Well it does seem thicker than traditional tie dye, it does make it more color-friendly.. You do want to pre-soak your fabric to end up with the dye sticking in

Wonderful tie-dye set!! The colors are so bright and beautiful, they are great lasting and do not fade after the initial wash! The entire set is great quality and very easy to use! There is more than enough dye in these bottles to do multiple shirts and they are great to seal back up and be able to use again! The bottles do not cause the dye to dry up when they are sealed back up!Very great value, would be perfect for a party or gathering to do with several kids as there is plenty to use and they are extremely easy to use! Great value!

I love Tulip paints, and have used their products for years to paint clothes, shoes, and other fabric items. Their quality is always superb. For this reason, I was excited to test these new Tulip Spray Tie-Dyes. I wasn’t disappointed, especially since I’ll be able to use the paints to make tie-dye paper too. The set comes in an 8-pack, with a pink, a red, a purple, a navy blue, a cerulean blue, a green, a yellow and an orange spray. The colors are bold and the canisters spray evenly overall. The set comes in a reusable storage box, along with a set of instructions and techniques. I tested the paints on tissue paper, which I’ll use for mixed media and collage projects in the future. I was very pleased with the results, and the sheets are pieces of art in themselves. For all these reasons, I highly recommend this Tulip Spray Tie-Dye Kit!

I'm not the biggest fan of this spray tie-dye. The liquid consistency is much thicker than traditional tie-dye, so the t-shirt fabric doesn't really absorb and spread it well. We tried different styles to see how it would turn out and nothing really came out as expected. The design that came out as close to envisioned was the one using a star stencil. Because the tie-dye liquid is thicker and doesn't really spread, the spray bottles are perfect when using a stencil. We also used the dry t-shirt method with the stencil, which we have never done before with tie-dye.The second shirt we tried to do a traditional swirl design. The t-shirt was damp, but the spray tie-dye didn't really absorb and spread like we wanted it to. We sprayed the shirt until it was covered, but when we pulled it apart, only about 5% of the shirt actually had dye on it. So we decided to just go spray paint style to finish it.The third shirt we completely gave up on using the spray bottles, and just took the lids off and poured the tie-dye liquid on the shirt. Again, this t-shirt was damp to try to help promote absorption and spreading. Pouring the dye did give us a more covered finish, but the liquid is so thick that it didn't fully absorb into the shirt and spread the way we wanted. One thing that was kind of nice, is that once the dye had actually dried, it did not transfer at all. Before washing our finished t-shirts, I ran them under water in the shower to release any extra dye, but nothing came off. So once this dye is dried, you can run the finished product through the washing machine with no problems.I also want to add that while these are spray bottles, they do still make a bit of a mess, especially if kids are using them. The kit does not come with any gloves or even rubber bands to make cool designs. It would be great if those were included as well. After making the 3 t-shirts, the bottles of dye are all at least 50% full, some more than that. So you can probably get quite a few projects out of them. But overall, these work more like spray paint than traditional tie-dye that absorbs and spreads through the fabric.

I love doing tie-dye, and this is a different way to play with it. I did receive them with one of them having leaked a little bit, which can happen in shipping. I just rinsed these off with hot water, came right off. Not enough to worry about, didn't lose much. I think the lid might not have been tight enough. That said do not hesitate if you want to try something different, this gives a slightly splattered look but if you want it to spread and smear and blend you can spray with a water bottle or dampen the shirt before you wrap it to your desired pattern. How you tie your shirt and dye your shirt will vary in patterns. Easy to look up ideas on Pinterest and YouTube. The colors are bold and bright, a whole rainbow of them. When you are finished, let the shirt or item sit for 24 hours before opening it up for the reveal. Rinse out, and heat set with a dryer, or use a vinegar soak (look for recipes to help set the dye) if you know about soda ash you can incorporate that into your projects as you choose. I'm saying all this in short but there are instructions out there to help you with how it's done. There is no right or wrong way. Have fun.
