Honestly, this cot might be even easier to set up than the $300 one. It uses the same snap tension system and trust me that does require some getting used to and elbow grease to put together. It doesn’t pack up quite as small, so I’d recommend this more for car camping (I car camp out of my Miata so not much more space than backpacking). Boy, this plus a Nemo mat are a combo that turns camping into glamping.

First off, one item was defective. We figured out how to fix it ourselves since I could no longer return it. Then it seemed great -even relatively comfortable. I laid on it for 30 min when crash I went to the floor with one of the clamps breaking off. I don’t 150 lbs less than the limit. Too risky to take camping. Even a 3 inch direct hit with the hip to the ground is potentially an injury.

purchased because I'm getting older, and the ground isn't a great option anymore. the main concern of reviews is how hard it is to put together and take apart. I find both those to curious as I had no issues whatsoever with putting it together and taking it apart. but then again, I followed the instructions, and it seems pretty straight forward. slept on its 2 nights so far and it seems pretty durable and holds up to a 6-foot 300lb man extremely well. I'll be using it this weekend as well. will update if something arises.

The cot is indeed very light, but requires considerable effort to assemble. However, if you place it on a flat surface without slopes, there is no risk of breaking the legs. The fabric stretches very well and does not sag much at my weight of 238 pounds. The lack of crossbars in the front and back greatly adds to the comfort, as it allows you to hang your arms and legs without the risk of them getting numb if you like to sleep stretched out.

Got into car camping recently, and needed a cot for lounging outside. Found this on sale and so got it as a Black Friday Special. So far so good, got it rather quickly and it assembles much easier than disassembling it. This might be just cause it was brand new and things just need to stretch out a bit. But trying to undo the tension clips was hard if you don’t have enough grip strength. I had to resort to some paracord to wrap around the release button to make enough pressure to release it. I’m sure once the cot material has stretched out enough that it won’t have as much tension on it, the release buttons will b easier to.undo. But for now the cot is quite firm and bouncy, and even sounds like a drum if you tap it.

I’m a bigger guy and admittedly on the higher end of the recommended weight limit but this thing sucked. Didn’t even last one night before it broke on a 3 day camping trip. Difficult to get put together for kids or anyone without decent strength. Back to the inflatable for me.

Light weight and comfy for a cot. I also got the Teton universal pad to go with it, which makes for a nice sleep system. I am pretty petit so my 35 lbs cattle dog and I both fit which is what I was looking for.My grip strength is lacking so it was a little difficult to put together but definitely manageable.
