I purchased this coat in a 14/16 for my son who normally wears a 16 in a coat. The length and look of coat is fine. My issue is that the sleeve/underarm area is snug fitting. There is not much room for growth there. I am not sure how it would fit if he was to wear a thick sweater with it. If I went to the next size, I am positive that it would have been too big and the length of the sleeve would have been too long. I decided to keep the coat. I would consider this coat to be medium/heavy coat weight (but not extremely heavy weight). He will wear this coat to church.

Thanks to the wonderful reviews, I knew to order a size up for my tiny 9 year old. (55 lbs/50 inches tall) I ordered the 10/12 and it fits perfect! The material is nice and the price was right!It isn't a very thick coat but he is always hot in the winter and as soon as he gets in the car, he starts to strip so I plan to layer him up under his coat with a hoodie and he should be fine until the below zero temps hit because we live in Michigan. Burrrrrrrrrrrrr⛄️❄️

I love this coat. It works well in all kinds of weather conditions. If it's very cold out, this works. If it's windy, it works. If it's raining, it works. If it's only a little cold, it doesn't overheat you quickly.Quality of it is good and stylish.I'm 5'7", 140lbs. Fit's well.

I bought this gorgeous coat in size 14/16 for my slim, tomboyish 11 y.o. daughter. She looks darling in it - it looks really cute with her cargo pants. She's 5" tall, 75 lbs and really slim, and it fits her beautifully, there's room enough for layers but it still looks tailored. It's not girlish, she would reject it right out if it was, but it's stylish for a boy or a tomboy.It's wool and probably warm enough for whatever Father Winter throws our way in the Bay Area.

Very nice looking jacket. However would not classify as coat since it's very thin. Also runs on the smaller side.
