Item is not as pictured. As far as I’m concerned this was a waste of money.

Bought this to help replace the battery in my Corvette. Battery removal in a C7 is a bit of an arduous task since the OEM battery has no handles. This strap worked pretty well to help man-handle the heavy battery out of that small battery compartment in the hatch.

Product shown in picture has rounded grabbing cleats which are more friendly to the battery post!Product actually received has a V-shaped wedge for the grabbing cleat which will score and damage the battery post. I ordered this item specifically because the picture showed the rounded cleat grabs! So I modified the cleats by using a large rat-tail file to make it more product friendly to the soft zinc battery posts! I made them work, but was disappointed for the bait-and-switch done by the seller!

For any “shade tree mechanic”, fisherman, boater, four wheeler, tradesman or anyone else that deals with large 12v batteries this a “must have” in your shop. It will save your knuckles without a doubt. Slip the ring over each battery post and the teeth dig securely in when you lift straight up. It won’t work on side post type batteries unless you have a couple of bolts to put where the terminals attach. All in all, a good value.

this is much closer to the LP record Vinyl. Stiff, VERY stiff.Don't get me wrong, this is a VERY useful, handy, tool to have around. Does exactly what it's purported to do. I'm going to order a second one 'cause it's easier to carry a balanced load/pair of batteries when I can.I modified mine a bit to make it more comfortable to use (strap material comforms to my hand so it's not like holding some medieval inquisitor's torture device) and easier to store in my tool box with other battery-related paraphernalia like a post/clamp brush and hygrometer.Just used some 1" nylon braided strap I had on hand, a soldering iron to melt holes for military-surplus "cherry max" rivets, and now it's exactly what I would expect I'd be buying.I'll keep the vinyl strap though; I put it on a heating mat I'm using for starting seeds and flattened it out so I can use it as a pry bar for removing truck tires or something.

This battery carrying strap is decently made for what it cost and worked great for carrying the Group-27 battery I replaced in my truck. It was helpful for lifting and removing the old battery as well as carrying and positioning the new battery in the trucks battery tray. The strap is made from heavy acid resistant black vinyl and measures approximately 17-1/2" overall. The zinc plated steel post grips are sized to the individual positive and negative battery posts and once positioned they are held securely by the weight of the battery.

When I was a kid 35-40 years ago you could buy these everywhere. I went to a couple of the national auto parts stores and they didn't carry it. I ordered it from Amazon, seems to be exactly what I needed. Just make sure it has a good grip on the each battery post before you lift the battery. I don't like lifting batteries in this manner but in trying to install a car battery in a tight spot or removing it from a tight spot this is an essential tool.

It's a battery strap, how bad can it be?Well I've had ones that were too short, didn't lock, and broke while carrying a battery! This one seems well made, the ends are 2 different sizes, as battery post usually are different diameters. The material for the handle is strong and doesn't cut into your hand, and the locks keep the ends in place when slid over the posts. Just make sure you push them down as far as you can. If they start to slip, it's your fault, not the carriers! I purchased this to remove the battery from my 2015 Stingray, (I was wiring in some accessories and need to remove the battery). The battery sits in the back of the car, in a deep well, and there is NO ROOM to get your hands around it to lift it out. This strap fit well and removal was a breeze! I then used it to remove and carry 2 group 27 deep cycle batreries from my RV. (A difficult place to get to due to all the wiring around them). And they are HEAVY! Again, no problem! A great, and handy item to have when you need one!
