The straps that they provide for tying the kayak down should not be trusted above 60mph or over longer distances. 3 hours into a 4.5 hour drive predominantly on the Ohio turnpike my kayak was ripped from the roof. The straps were shredded when I removed the from the rack following a dash across the lanes of the turnpike and a frantic dash back up the roadway to pull the kayak further off the roadway and dragging it back even with my vehicle. I had even taken an additional precaution of cinching down an adjustable Bungie cord between the 2 racks tied around the roof rail to add stability and lessen movement caused by air. Fortunately for us I always have things in my car to assist me in doing my job so I had 2 ratcheting straps in the vehicle that we used to secure the kayak back down until I could exit the trunpike and find a hardware store. All this added 2 hours to or travel time since our exit didn't have a way to renter.FORTUNATELY for everyone when the kayak broke loose there was no one close behind us on the turnpike at that particular moment. Having watched the kayak land in my mirrors and knowing that it landed bow first against traffic it could have quite easily gone through someone's windshield and there just as easily could've been a major accident or loss of life.

If I had anything to suggest to this company, it'd be to have better assemble instructions. All there was was a diagram with a bunch of numbers pointed at brackets, bolts, etc. I had to keep flipping the page over to make sure I had the right components lol. Other then that, easy as pie to assemble and install! Would totally recommend for you kayaks and paddle boards!
