THE ARTISTRY
The clean and simple lines of Lastra, Italian for "slab", were inspired by the circular wooden slab used for centuries to create the outer mold in cheese making throughout Italy. When fashioned together with twine, the hoop was left with a slight overlap to help maintain the shape of the cheese mold. Maestro molder Stefano Roselli incorporates the overlapping detail into the entire design, from its foot to its rim. A dark dusting on the edges of each piece suggests the ash that was used to preserve these cheeses and highlights each unique silhouette.
MASTERFULLY HANDCRAFTED
Signor Stefano Roselli is the master molder for a ceramics cooperative located in a small town seven miles outside of Florence, and he is the creator behind this collection. VIETRI has worked with Stefano and factory owner Franco Ammannati for close to 15 years, creating and bringing to market dinnerware collections, vases, urns, and other home decor products.
INSPIRED IN ITALY
A region in central Italy, Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history, craftsmanship, and influence on culture. As the birthplace of the Renaissance, Tuscany is often called the art palace of Italy, and many of the world's greatest works of art come from the region. Ceramics have a long legacy in the area and maintain their place of importance in the region today.

Many reasons to give this a bad review. I bought the white one, new. It arrived broken, bright red, and no spout. Quality even if it was right is no more than something you’d find at TJMaxx for $10.

The can, while attractive, is made of a cheap stamped metal. I don’t really trust it not to interact with the olive oil for which it is intended.

Purchased as a housewarming gift. Every time I go over to their house, I see this olive oil container displayed on their kitchen counter. I don't think they do that for my sake, it looks like they actually use it and like it. Sorry I can't write a more robust review other than it's aesthetically pleasing.

I bought this to replace one I broke. My wife was very unhappy about my breaking the gift she'd been given. So I ordered this one hoping it was the same. It was! A great looking and very practical olive oil container. Just don't drop it in a cast iron sink.
