It’s definitely $$$ but totally worth it. I know it will last a long time! This is what you want on your horse. Not flimsy crap.

I’ve been diligently looking for something that would complement my horses, light blue light turquoise tack set. This filled the bill. I love it and the quality of the lead rope is very nice.

We camp with horses and one of our favorite places has high ties and hitching areas set up, no pens. I like the quality and the longer lead rope - gives my horses enough length to move around and lay down for the night. The leather popper has been handy to swat across the front legs of a younger filly we have who is for some reason terrified of backing out of a trailer. Puts just enough 'bite' to the impact without hurting, gets her moving backwards and she doesn't want to 'jump' back in on top of us.I've had my first one of these for several years and it's not rotted or frayed. My only dislike is the fuzzy tassel - my horses get hay and grass, leaves, etc in it. We cut the tassels short to help cut down on stuff tangling up in them. If you're not hauling them to camp and they aren't snacking on hay all the way there, this probably won't be an issue.

Halter alone is good quality. Pretty stiff, unlike my previous quality rope halters. Colors are as shown & are nice. Tied & knotted unevenly but with some work can be retied to be more even. The lead rope is very poor quality. Flimsy, thin nylon & will snag easily. Very disappointing being that Weaver usually has excellent products.I will have to use a different lead or just return the whole set & look for the halter alone.

If you feel you can't let a good halter go to waste and therefore use the same halter until it falls apart then your going to be stuck with this same halter forever. These things are so sturdy. The colors do eventually fade over the years with weather and dirt, but mine have never broken. I have six of these halters and Ill buy more. This is the first time I've bought a Silvertip halter that came with the lead rope. The rope is okay. Its soft and loosely woven, but it seems sturdy. The color is really nice and matches well with the halter. I bought the brown & teal blue. I attached a brass clip to my rope, but thats a personal preference. I hope this review is helpful in some way to somebody.

This seemed to be a nice product and I liked the long attached lead rope. Used it quite a few times with my mule. All seemed good until I was loading her in the trailer and she tried to back off the trailer. The halter was attached to a break away trailer tie and she pulled back quite a bit before she decided to come back forward. The breakaway never released but the halter nearly tore apart in three places! It was so close to ripping through I had to throw it out. If you need something for a horse that doesn’t pull much this should be fine. But if you need something reliable then I’d look else where. Used a different halter the same day and she pulled back again but the other halter showed zero signs of wear and it was a thinner rope halter. The mule is just two years old and so is trying to figure life out at the end of a lead rope.

I have purchased Silvertip Halters for a long time. We found them at one of the trade shows in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo. They were hand tied then and I was worried than some of the quality would be gone when Weaver took them over. I bought 3 and they are all just as good as the first one we ever bought. The only reason I had to buy new ones is because I wanted some new colors. They last forever! The leads are tied on so there is no snap to worry with. I think they are the best rope halters available. I do not think you will be disappointed.
