Nothing compression about this garment. In fact, it’s a sloppy fit. 5’4 and 130lbs and a medium is usually a good fit, but the waist on these is too relaxed. I was really looking for something like this for the pocket. Even though size-wise, I am able to carry my phone in the pocket, because of the thin fabric and laxity in the waist, the weight of the phone pulls the shorts down on that side. Maybe a small would have been a better choice. I have not laundered it yet, so can’t speak to how it hold up in the wash. Still contemplating return.
