Ii work as a firefighter. I bought this to clip to my SCBA. If I ever get disoriented due to smoke, I can look at my compass and see what side of the structure I am on. This would help other crews be able to locate me if I cannot find a way out and give me a better chance of finding my own way out if that were to happen.This compass seems durable enough. The numbers are big and easy to read. The retractable lanyard means I can pull it to where I can see it. The luminescent numbers will be easier to read in heavy smoke and low light conditions.

I have a digitial compass on my dive computer, but I wanted an easy to read analog compass. This fit-the-bill perfectly.

Been diving for 53 years and still doing drift dives while spearfishing & scuba diving. These retractable compasses are a very important piece of equipment to find bottom structure & wrecks where all the fish & lobster are. I like the large easy-to-read numbers thru the view window! Compass is elevated on its mount to make navigation easier. Only time will tell as to its quality but so far Im happy & impressed.

I looked at various compasses for diving including the Suunto and some off-brand versions. This one fits the bill, is well made and feels solid and the face glows nicely when illuminated with a light. The price was also great for the quality. After some testing, it tracks north accurately.
