These shorts do a great job they keep you extremely warm and in the water are very comfortable but just as an FYI it takes some time to break them in and they are very stiff at the beginning. This is not a negative comment about the product it’s just to make sure people are aware.

I've been struggling for years with my Triathlon Swim.Not sure why, I'm built like a swimmer, got great cardio and a lot of motivation but I couldn't nail down my problem and was stuck at about 2+ minutes per 100 Meters.Awful! I was so frustrated.My race buddy recommended that I that I try some 'floaty pants' he called them so I did and these were them.My first lap in them was 1m 33 seconds, about 30 seconds faster than usual!I have never swum that fast and it really explained a lot about what I was doing wrong.My feet and legs were sinking, causing drag and resultant slowness.This is great! Really gives me some swim confidence for my first Half Ironman in 2 weeks.Try some.Better yet, try a full wetsuit.Even more buoyancy will help.

I tend to sink in pools, and this allows me to float and assists when I'm swimming.

Nice and dense. My lower body is dense, so I sink like a rock. This has been a real problem for me. These are thick neoprene, so they keep my lower body afloat like magic. They are also very warm. So glad I ordered them.

The shorts fit well and worked quite well for just under a year. The one inseam that was not stitched came apart and they are now unusable. The one-year warranty offered by Xterra states that if the seam comes all the way apart it is due to force and not a manufacture defect. I treated the shorts very well. I previously had a pair of Blue Seventy buoyancy shorts that lasted me over 9 years with that care. I would suggest paying a bit more and going that route.

I needed to replace my TYR neo shorts, which were worn out and not available on the TYR website.The lava pants are a perfect substitute. I have a 29-30 waist and the small size fits fine. When I first tried them on they seemed too tight, but after a couple of uses I have no issues. They are meant to be tight to reduce drag, and they work well.My times in the pool are the same as with the neo shorts and faster than with a normal jammer swimsuit, because my legs tend to sink and the lava pants give me more buoyancy in the hips and thighs.

I am not a strong swimmer, and I usually find the water too cold to even go in. I like these because they help keep me warm, and the buoyancy helps me when I'm swimming.I am 5ft 7 inches and weigh a hundred and forty five pounds, the large was snug but a good fit.
