I bought two sets, assuming there would be some variety in color. I wanted to make sure I got at least a couple picks with the vibrant colors shown. I did not. I'm sure they'll be more than capable as picks, but I thought they'd be prettier, as in their pictures.

Well made, attractive and durable. Great for bass guitar - produces a good 'chunk' sound

Soundwise? These picks make your guitar sound louder and have a more harmonically dense sound. However, I find them to be more clumsy because of how thick they are. I added a refrence photo comparing a typical dunlop sharp to these chonky picks. I wish they could make these at a normal thickness, but I am assuming that wood would break too easily. Its a shame cause the tone is clearly better.

Depuis la découverte de ses médiators en bois,je n'utilise plus qu'eux pour jouer de la basse et ne pourrai m'en passer et revenir aux celluloïds ou nylon,je recommande fortement.

Wood just sounds better than plastic on strings. Nice hard wood picks.

Durable and I enjoy playing with them. I use heavier strings and these hold up nice and the grip indentation is perfectly comfortable.

I was curious how wood picks sounded so this seemed like a great variety pack to get. It is neat to try them and hear how, though they all have a similar core sound, there are very subtle differences in the EQ. Overall the darker looking ones tend to sound darker to me and the lighter ones sound lighter for the most part, though this isn't always the case. I've found while they're okay to play with, I find them too thick and significantly less nimble than my normal Dunlop Flow picks I use, so I won't be switching to these as my main picks but might use them occasionally. I think these would be especially good for classical, jazz, and bass guitar for the feel and tone of the picks. The packaging and tin is also quite nice if a bit basic, though my one complaint is there's not a slip inside with a picture of the wood and what it is, so you have to make educated guesses on which pick is which wood. You can sort of tell based off the description's listing of how many of each picks (2 maple picks, so find the two closest light picks and those are probably it, for example), but it would still be nice to have a more specific indicator. So overall a great way to try a variety of wood picks. I won't be using them as my main but will definitely be using them now and then, and these are a nice addition to my small collection of different styles of picks I've been building. Also thank you to the seller Landihose, the shipping was quick, the price was good, and it was well-packed. I recommend these picks if you like trying different picks like me, or if you enjoy thicker, darker-sounding picks.

These are strangely much softer than they appear (not to touch, but when playing), hence have a slightly more muted sound than a plastic/nylon pick. They very much sound like finger picking (finger-tip, not using a finger-nail), so they definitely sound different to a more traditional pick. They’re not as loud as you might expect them to be given how thick and initially how rigid they feel. Due to the more muted sound they don’t take to effects pedals as well, probably due to the less crisp input signal to the pedal. Chorus in particular seemed barely noticeable. Finger pull-off’s were more noticeable than hammer-on’s for some reason; I’d not expected to notice any difference. Slides are less noticeable than with a traditional pick (i.e. you can’t hear as much of a sound difference in the slide), but again this is more likely due to the generally lower output due to the more muted sound. They didn’t work at all well on the Mandolin, I suspect it’d be the same on a 12-string (I sold mine recently so couldn’t test), they don’t seem to play the second string in a pair as well as the first; hence the second string is even more mute sounding than the first in each pair. The sound was also more bass rich, possibly the softer impact on the thinner strings not creating as much output signal, not as noticeable on an acoustic as on an electric guitar, but still noticeable. They also seem to “click” against the adjacent strings more than a plastic pick when strumming (or at least more noticeably/audibly).Despite the increased thickness they’re as easy to use as a traditional “thin” pick, although you do seem to have to grip slightly harder; that could be because they’re not as naturally “grippy” on the surface, but the slight “scooped” depression really does help. Individual string picking was easy and produced a good sound, but similar to using a finger as already noted; I guess these might be more repeatable than my fingers over a sustained period? The different woods do have a slightly different sound too, although all the above still applies. Some of the woods are clearly more rigid than others, but all softer than a plastic pick.If you want a more muted and slightly bassier sound without changing anything else in your set-up, they’re a quick low cost way to achieve it. Personally I can’t see me using them a great deal, although if I played more acoustic they might get some use. A worthwhile personal experiment and interesting to hear how much difference these really did make.
