This adapter has been a great tool for me. It’s built rather well and after using for the past couple months it’s been great and still looks good. I’ve noticed no difference in sound quality other than needing to turn the volume up a bit since I’m using a single ended port rather than balanced, which is normal obviously. Everything about this adapter is good and works as intended. Overall I’m very happy with this adapter and if needed I would buy again

I recently had the pleasure of picking up a balanced cable. If you’re not familiar with what that means, I highly recommend looking into it... Especially if you want to understand where I’m coming from with this critical review.Once you understand how balanced cables and differential signaling work, the next real question becomes:Why would anyone adapt this back down to a standard headphone connector?Well, the short answer is:You might want to use your high-end headphones with a standard 3.5mm jack that doesn’t support 5 poles! 😅🔬 Testing ParametersCable: 5-pole balanced headphone cable connected to balanced headphonesDevice: Laptop (supports only 3-pole TRS connection)PROS:✅ Compatibility: Allows a 5-pole balanced cable to connect with a standard 3.5mm TRS jack (e.g., laptops, phones).✅ Budget-friendly: An inexpensive way to adapt your setup.CONS:❌ Misleading for users: Contributes to confusion around what “balanced” really means and why it's important.❌ Signal degradation: Cancels out the benefits of differential signaling, including active noise cancellation and better channel separation.🔎 CONCLUSIONIf you’re using high-end balanced headphones, this adapter completely removes the very advantage you paid for. Sure, it makes your gear usable on common devices (but at the cost of quality)Personally, I’d skip this one. Using premium equipment on low-end sources defeats the purpose. That’s just me, though! 👀

If you need this sort of adapter, it will do the job. very well built material wise. Although the cable in the middle is very nice, i think i would like to have seen a mesh of some kind around it to stifffen it up a bit. these types of cables are very nice to the touch but are very soft. the cable ends are metal and have some weight to em.

Most of my headphones use 4.4mm cables. I have a few amps that only have a 3.5mm jack. This converter saves me from having to change cables all the time. Sound quality shows no degradation.

This Youkamoo adapter does one thing: it lets you connect a 4.4mm cable and use a 3.5mm device port. This may be something that most people don't need, but if you're using balanced headphones with a 4.4mm cable and want to plug it into a traditional non-balanced source, like on many audio players, televisions, or whatever, you can now do it.I really like using my Sennheiser balanced headphones whenever possible, and this cable gives me the option of keeping the upgraded balanced cables plugged in rather than replacing it with the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable that came with the headphones. In one sense, it's a minor matter, but that bit of convenience comes in when you're using the headphones while addressing a number of other challenges at the same time. The Youkamoo adapter itself is well made and functions well. I like that it's of a short length, as I don't need a longer headphone cable beyond what I already have (which is already probably too long). The price point is also fair, especially when compared with similar items that, for some reason, have stratospheric prices. Overall, this adapter is a good product at a fair price. Can't beat that.

So I bought this to use my 4.4 headphones in my production gear and it works like a charm. Not only does it work good but it's very well made and super sturdy. Very nice item

I have quite a few balanced headphones that use a 4.4 connection however not all of my amplifiers / DAC's have a 4.4 output. They do however have a 1/4" output like my Topping L30. Having this adapter lets me just leave it plugged into the amp and I can switch my headphones out easy. No more cable swapping! The only thing preventing me from giving this 5 stars is the fact that there is no stress relief on the 1/4" side. There is a rubber grommet inside, however that allows you to pull the cable at an angle where it is rubbing against the metal housing, which isn't sharp, but isn't that dull either. If they extended that grommet out another 5mm it would be perfect. Since this will be used on a stationary device I do not think it will pose a problem long term.
