Product Reviewed: ZOOFOX 2 Pack Welding Rod Holder, 14" Carbon Steel Stick Electrode Storage Tube for $19TL;DR; Replaceable O-Ring Seal; Stiff threads initially; Tidy packageI’m quite pleased about these holders. They are fairly rugged plastic construction noted in the listing as ABS. The seal on the container is a threaded cap that hits a standard O-Ring so the seal is not proprietary and can be replaced easily which is a nice feature.I found the threads slightly squeaky or stiff but a bit of PTFE dry lube seemed to address this just fine.5 stars. How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.

There's nothing special about these rod holders, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. There's no dividers included, but if you're getting these to keep a single type and diameter of rod in, you don't need the dividers anyway. There's no strap or affixing hardware included, but a lot of times the ones that similar containers provide aren't worth using anyway, so there's not really any loss there either. The connecting points for straps are there, so you still have the option to attach one if you want. The one thing I think these could really benefit from that wouldn't impact the price is a tether for the cap. Even if it didn't come attached, a short length of bead chain or something to keep the cap attached to the container would make a big difference.Overall though, the containers seal well. The o-ring included was soft and flexible (though like any other would prob benefit from some silicone grease/oil if you wanted to keep it healthy longer), and the plastic is thick and solid enough to where I don't have any worries about it cracking if it's full of rods and gets dropped from 10' off the ground. It may not be the fanciest option, but it does what it's supposed to and at a price that's still a good deal for what you get.
