This is a very nice and durable hay ball that you can use for slow feeding horses or as a play toy for them to push around the pasture to get the hay out. The ball is very durable plastic and appears it will last. The strap is pretty worthless. We hung it with a rope to use for slow feeding.

I filled it with hay but the holes are too small for the horsea to get hay out

Every time my horses see me fill this hay ball they get visibly excited! This one is the second one I have and the first has held up with hard use. Easy to fill with hay and provides a lot of fun for the horses, especially those on limited turnout. I don’t hang mine, I just toss it into the paddock and let my horses roll it around. I stuff it with grass hay with a handful of alfalfa as the center “ treat” it keeps them entertained and slow grazing for hours. It holds a couple of flakes of hay when stuffed tight. These balls are fairly pricey but I feel that the price is warranted because they are built for hard use over time. The plastic is heavy duty and the holes are finished smoothly so the horses don’t get abrasions on their muzzles.
