Better then cast forge .These are laser or plasma cut , both are parallel, square and flatI will prime and finish paint then cause they are just raw steel and don’t want them to rust

they work great however i wish i had searched for 6" plates, the 5" plates dont give much room for slippage.

Great value. About 1” thick steel plates appear plasma cut, both plates very similar. These plates are smaller than I expected but large enough to cover the gap in my arbor press
