About this item

  • Speed sensor module: The module adopts a slot-type photoelectric sensor, which consists of an infrared Light Emitting Diode and an NPN phototransistor, with a slot width of 5.9mm. There are M3 screw mounting holes at both ends, as long as the non-transparent object passes through the slot type, the output TTL low level can be triggered. The Schmitt trigger is used to dejitter the pulse, and the output is stable, which can be used to measure speed, distance, etc
  • Infrared sensor module: VCC is the positive electrode of the power supply, and GND is the ground wire of the power supply. OUT is the digital signal output port
  • Working voltage: 3.3V-5V, output form: digital switching output (0 and 1)
  • Attention: For Arduino, players should set the MCU's I/O port to input/receive mode, otherwise it will not work.
  • What You'll Get: 20PCS IR Infrared Sensor Module Robot Speed Sensor Module

Instructions for use

Connect VCC and GND, the module signal indicator will light up. When there is no obstruction in the module slot, the receiving tube is turned on, and the module OUT outputs a high level; when blocked, OUT outputs a low level and the signal indicator goes out

The module OUT can be connected to a relay to form a limit switch and other functions, or it can be connected to an active buzzer module to form an alarm

The OUT output interface can be directly connected to the IO port of the microcontroller, generally connected to an external interrupt to detect whether the sensor is blocked. If a motor encoder is used, the motor speed can be detected

Program design: The OUT port of the speed measurement module is connected to the external interrupt port of the MCU. Whenever an infrared ray is turned on, it is an external buffer

These sensors are super easy to use - just give them a bit of power (5v for the test pictured) and you have a very nice clean 5v signal out the output pin. The waveform pictured was produced by passing a piece of opaque material between the two 'pillars'.The price per unit is great for these - five stars.
