Some after my old 18V tool batteries finally gave out, this adapter was a fantastic find. I've got a couple older drills and a saw that still work great mechanically but finding replacement NiCad batteries was getting expensive and difficult. This little thing lets me use the newer 20V lithium batteries I already have for my newer tools, it just clicks right in. It slides onto the old tool where the original battery went and the 20V battery snaps firmly into the adapter. I was concerned it might make the tools bulky or awkward but honestly the added weight is minimal and doesn't throw off the balance much at all. Used it on my old drill installing shelves for maybe an hour and it felt just as powerful maybe even a bit punchier then the old batteries ever were. The connections feel secure on both ends. Saved me buying whole new tools and keeps perfectly good ones working. A real money saver.

These battery adapters make using my older DeWALT tools super convenient. I put one of these on each of my older 18V tools and I never have to fuss with compatibility issues again. They are relatively inexpensive, especially if you use your tools often. I can switch my 20V batteries back and forth between older and newer tools instantly. And if you happen to still have some older tools without one of these adapters, they are easy to swap in and out. They are a smooth fit with easy yet positive latching and unlatching. And the electrical connection is solid. If you are working on a project that requires the use of several of your older 18V tools along with some of your newer 20V tools, get one of these for each of your older tools and stop fiddling with swapping adapters back and forth. They have been a lifesaver for me and I am very pleased with them!Note: The instructions say that these adapters will not fit any charger, so always charge each 18V or 20V battery in its original charger.

Like a lot of people, I have upgrades my tools over the years and had to go through multiple battery design changes along the way, leaving a lot of tools with degraded batteries and limited usefulness. This adapter allowed me to use my old 18V Dewalt tools with my newer 20V batteries, expanding my collection of useable tools substantially. Considering the low cost and what you gain, it's a fantastic value. The fit is good, and the adapter is made out of high quality plastic.Very good product!

Received these and they work well with my Dewalt 20V batteries. They are not as heavy duty as the one I have from Dewalt but are much less expensive. So far they work with all my tools that are currently 18V. I am curious to see how they will hold up but so far so good.

This adapter allows you to upgrade your 18 volt cordless tools to 20 volts. The adapter plugs into your tool and then the newer 20 volt battery pugs into it. The attachment to the tool is actually easier to remove than an OEM versioni have, allowing easier changes between tools. The battery mounts flat to it so you can balance some tools on the battery (depending on the tool of course). The OEM adapter mounts the battery at an angle so this is an additional feature. The adapters function well. The color is not quite an exact match, but in my opinion it's not an issue. I'm just noting it if it is a concern for others.

I hate how manufacturers cannot agree on a standard battery design, and I really dislike how hard it is to source batteries once your tool gets to be a certain age. I have had my trusty DeWalt for years and years: this thing has literally travelled around the US with me for work, and is almost exclusively the main tool in all of my home renovation projects (of which there have been many). But being down to just one battery at this point, I was growing frustrated at the thought of having to retire it despite that fact that, other than the batteries, it still works just as well today as it did when I bought it years ago. These adapters help with this a ton. Since I have another tool (an angle grinder) that uses newer batteries, I am able to use these battery adapters to keep the ol' gal going, and I couldn't be happier. You can't charge batteries through these adapters, which is plainly stated in the description, but I feel like it is important to point it out anyway. I don't find this to be a problem since I have a charger for the batteries anyway. All in all, this is a small price to pay to keep my beloved drill going rather than spend hundreds on a new one.
