Here's a picture to support other reviews of how thin the tube wall is. The hitch accessory on the left is my old and well used hitch accessory, that I still keep in service rated at 5000 lbs and 500 lbs tongue weight. It's shorter in length and no welds at the stress point of the receiver hitch so it has to be stronger.I would not put more than 3000 lbs tow weight and 300 lbs tongue weight on this product, but I'm not doing destructive testing. All I can do is to compare it to other US made product's design that I've used for years and compare the rating.

I ASKED AMAZON TO REMOVE THIS PRODUCT. Someone will get killed when this fails. The weld broke while towing a tow dolly. Weight was well under rated 400lb tongue and 4000lb tow weight. Broke free while driving. LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. Thank goodness the safety chains did their job. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Bought for a receiver winch plate so I can more easily load broken equipment on to my trailer with a 2500lbs winch without having to attach it to my 4x8 harbor freight trailer I think it will do well.

I got it to make using a particular cargo carrier easier which needed to hang lower than my hitch normally allowed, and it held up beautifully. The cargo carrier had a number of problems, unrelated to this, but for the price this hitch drop did exactly what I wanted, held all the luggage on the luggage rack without so much as squeaking, and was basically perfect. I had the luggage rack on the lower hitch, and the design is technically for a rack to be on the upper hitch and a trailer to be on the lower, but it did what I wanted excellently. No complaints.
