if you have a smaller hot tub this is what you want. There isn’t much to it which means it will last and it works wonderfully. Now as adults you keep the hot tub (or if you live in Texas tiny pool) very clean. It’s not like kids in a regular pool, in and out, in and out all day long. So the level of dirt and sand is very minimal. This vacuum sucks t up no problem and is pretty fast to use.I tried it out and within a few minutes I was done. i actually wanted to use it longer just because well it was new and I was shocked how quick it worked. It might seem a little pricey and you are probably right on that but all in all it works well and there isn’t much that can break on it.

Effective pool vacuum. I have a 10x16x42" pool. I get dirt in the wrinkles of the liner. I also had 'something' black' at the bottom of the pool and I used the vacuum to suck it up and it turned out to be a disgusting large spider. I was very happy it was able to suck this up. You basically put your thumb over the hole then put it to where you need to suck up debris and it will suck it up. You only have until the canister fills with water and then you will need to start over gain (releasing your thumb off the end, letting the water drain out - then putting it at the bottom of the pool again). It fills up fairly quickly like maybe 15 seconds. It does have a filter at the bottom of the canister that traps the debris. It does pick things up, it is just a bit of a long process to get over the whole pool, but it definitely works and that is the important thing.
