I was expecting something that could cut brush, this does not. Was struggling to cut 1/8"-1/4" sprouts around our trees. Blade itself also seems unbalanced and creates a nice shaking through out the whole ordeal. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY TO GET A NAME BRAND, the difference in buying a new blade to hopefully solve this problem is the difference in price.

Bought this to go with my Greenworks 80V Brushless power head, so I could stop using a string trimmer and polluting my land with plastic bits. It fits perfectly and was easy to assemble. The concise instructions that came with mine were very clear in my opinion, though it's very important to read and follow them in their entirety, since the last step is to remove and then reattach the blade. I assume it's attached the way it is during shipment to simply secure the blade to avoid injury and damage to the packaging, but it might not be intuitive to remove and then replace it, so this is why following the instructions completely is so vital. It was easy to attach to my power head, and the included diagram and tips for use (cutting direction, scythe-like motion) helped me figure out how to hold it and where to attach my shoulder strap. The blade is incredibly heavy and sharp and not to be messed with - but the whole unit feels sturdy and required no tightening or anything after I put it together - nothing feels shaky or in danger of falling apart with vibration or anything like that. It chops easily through grass, dry stalks, and small saplings up to about 3/4", and seems to be most successful if you sweep it back and forth rather quickly. If it hits a sapling that's too big to cut in one go it bounces back. More quick sweeps seem more effective than trying to grind through things like this. I went through a quarter mile stretch of roadside brush and my blade looks knocked-about but is still very sharp. The instructions say not to sharpen it but I don't see any reason not to and intend to do so when it's needed, because it's so solid and heavy and can doubtless handle several rounds of sharpening before a replacement needs to be found. Definitely wear ear protection (in addition to eye protection and solid boots and leg covering), because it's very loud, though that's probably influenced by whatever power head you use with it. Cleaning it is really easy with no hidden nooks and crannies or awkward corners to catch detritus. My only quibble is that the optional hanging hook looks really flimsy, but you can attach something sturdier if you want.

OK!!!! THIS THING IS AWESOME!! I was completely skeptical of this being from China or wherever and expected it to b cheap. I was wrong. It is great. It sliced thru over a years worth of grass and brush, and little trees that had been neglected in my back field area. The growth was over a foot tall and had matted down on itself but this attachment sliced thru and under with no problem. I don't know why people complained about noise I did not notice but I do have a gas trimmer. I only have two issues. One, I had was trying to get the attachment onto my trimmer. It takes a little twisting and getting it to line up exactly but I assure you it does fit. The other is the blade isn't sharpened, though It didn't really seem to matter at all. Over all I recommend this.

The brush-cutting head fit my cordless Ryobi trimmer perfectly and was easy to install. It was more powerful than I expected, making short work of tough sawgrass and blackberry canes, even cutting pine and sweetgum trees up to a half-inch diameter. Much cheaper than the official Ryobi product. Makes clearing brush and tough weeds as easy as weed-whacking.

I ordered this for my Kobalt 40v. There aren’t many options for the brush attachment on this unit. I can confirm the fitment is right on and works like a champ.

Cleared dry brush very well and wet brush with some veggy binding. Not great but have to stop and clear with large area clearance.

This is being used heavily on my Husqvarna 128LD (late model), and it is a cost-effective solution for clearing some land over-run with wild blackberries, honeysuckle bushes the size of small trees, wild grapes, wild roses and all manner of trash trees (those small, irritating stick trees that grow like the plague). The attachment snaps right on, and so far is holding up great. The included 4-tooth 8" blade does OK for brush, but has such a limited reach and bite depth that I ended up removing the guard and putting a 3-tooth 10" blade on it. Once that was done, it was off to the races. Very little can withstand this combo. Wild rose bushes (even the 7' tall one I dealt with last week), blackberry thickets, grape vines, honeysuckle, small trees (up to 3" diameter), grass - they all fall to the (modified) tool. Some specifics about use and some warnings:!! DISCLAIMER: I *DO NOT* recommend, suggest or encourage the modifications I made. They were done for the specific needs I had for the gear to do what I need done. I am not an expert and do not claim to be. If you want to do something similar, that is on you and you alone are responsible for the results. !!First, make sure everything is tight on the cutter assembly and that there is grease in the gearbox.Secondly, make sure the clamp for the attachment is well-tightened. Don't need to go crazy there, but do NOT trust the detent to keep things secure.Third, the 128LD Husky handles the attachment well, but will need to warm up a little before best performance is achieved with a tri-blade 10" brush blade. I usually let mine idle about 1 minute, then coax the blade into full throttleFourth, KEEP THE BLADE AT FULL THROTTLE WHEN CUTTING. Once it gets up to speed, the mass does most of the work, so keep it wide open when working. Finally, SAFETY GEAR. With the bigger blade, and the guard removed, you REALLY need to wear safety gear. I wear steel-toed boots, jeans under chainsaw chaps, long-sleeved shirt, leather gloves and my chainsaw helmet - the hard hat with built-in ear muffs and face shield - over safety glasses. And trust me, you need them. Blackberries and roses does not go silently into the night, and trash trees like to whip and twist at you as they meet their well-deserved end. This is not a combination you want to use with shorts and flip-flops unless you want to get trashed by debris. And most importantly, keep the blade AWAY from you AT ALL TIMES when it is spinning. Pay very close attention to where it is and how it is moving or you may lose some parts of you that you would rather not lose. With that said, the unit seems built well enough. There is a touch of whine in the gearbox, even with the included 4-tooth blade. I checked that there was grease in the gearbox (there was), and it has been running hard for many tanks of gas without any issue, so the whine does not appear to be a problem. The tone and pitch has not changed, and I have been abusing the living daylights out of this thing, so I am satisfied with the unit so far.In my experience, I have noticed that harmonics in the drive line is pretty good, but in certain circumstances, an oscillation can start that will grow in amplitude if you don't let off the throttle for a moment and then ease it back up to full. This is likely not a design issue, but rather a physics problem. Simple enough to deal with if you have used string trimmers with brush blades before, but may be an issue for those who have not. If left unchecked, the oscillation will grow in amplitude until something breaks or the feedback cycle is ended. The shaft of this unit is a little short for me (6') but not prohibitively so. It is about 1" shorter than the string trimmer unit from Husky.Considering the price, this is a good deal. I may order a second one and convert it to a 80T set up. The easy-on/easy-off path makes converting head units a waste of time when you can just remove the string trimmer head, put a blade head on and be back at it about 20 seconds later instead of having to remove the string head, get the blade on, tighten it, and then get back to work. Also, spare gearboxes never hurt.
