Do you have a laptop that got its screen broken? Why not use it as a headless PC like I do, and connect it to your external monitor? What, you say? You only have one monitor? If so, this is the product for you. That was my situation and this KVM switch fit the bill. This little number, made of a small metal enclosure with some ports in it and some heatsink fins on the side, is a switch that you plug 2 HDMI inputs into and then another HDMI cable into for the output, connect it to your monitor and then you can switch between the inputs at the press of a button on the unit or on the remote control. It claims to offer 8K HDMI 2.1 so I got this because it would be future proof. However, it’s only at 60hz. I don’t see myself getting an 8k monitor anytime soon, I am outputting to an old 1080p monitor so it works just fine for me. It should be compatible with better gear when I can get it though. It seems to work fine.I think if you just want to switch over and use a different system once in a while it’s a good value. I think it works for me.

We have a projector instead of a tv and it can be a real pain to switch over between our ps5, our Roku, and our retro pie with ease. This switch has proven to be very helpful to use when switching amongst medias. It is pretty full proof to set up and keeps a low profile in a seemingly cluttered media mess that our projector resides in.The picture has been flawless and I haven’t noticed a difference between having the switch in play and not having a switch at all, which is always a good thing. But it’s great how small it is. I can remember hdmi splitters being way more involved so this is a nice change of pace. Another thing to add is there has been no lag whatsoever, which I appreciate greatly.

If you have multiple gaming setups or computers connected to your TV this is perfect, the remote is a great size and only uses two AAAs, when your devices are on it will light up red for each connected device. Great looking item that looks and feels like a quality made HDMI switch. Great value for smooth transition of switching multiple devices

This switch fits perfectly into my retro gaming setup. I was out of HDMI inputs on my receiver, which handles everything going to my display, so having a device that lets me combine two sources into a single input is a lifesaver. It immediately freed up some much-needed flexibility without compromising quality. The picture is sharp, the switching is instant, and to my surprise—it came with a remote! Somehow I missed that in the listing, so I was genuinely thrilled when I opened the box and saw it. The remote works great, no lag or awkward aiming required. If this brand offered a larger version with more inputs, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. For now, though, this one's doing exactly what I needed it to. It’s compact, reliable, and a great value for the price. Definitely recommend it if you're short on ports but high on devices.

I am using this to allow my home server to share the 2nd monitor for my work laptop. While not an 8k monitor, it’s nice to know that the capability is there if I upgrade.I appreciate the compact size of the device, that I would describe as roughly the size of a harmonica, only thinner. It’s USB powered (includes cable but not AC adapter). Well labeled and the button layout is good. Probably my favorite part is the button used to switch sources. It’s a very satisfying hard click. Also huge win for using red LEDs instead of blue. Way too many blue LEDs lighting up my office at night. The red is less noticeable (in a good way) when the lights are off.The only surprise for me was that when switching between sources, it seems to disconnect the monitor from the source rather than act as a dummy monitor to the source. Maybe I’m just spoiled from having always worked with high end KVM’s. Here the situation: when selecting the laptop as the source I get my 2nd monitor, then switching to my server, my laptop reverts back to a single monitor configuration, acting as though I just unplugged the monitor.Don’t get me wrong, that has been very handy when I needed to jump back to my laptop and access something that was previously open on the 2nd monitor, without needing to switch away from the server. It just wasn’t what I was expecting. When I switch back from server to laptop, the laptop reverts back to its dual screen configuration. For most people this is probably what they would prefer, but I was expecting the laptop to in stay in dual screen mode, even though the server was using that screen.Very minor point, but one to be aware of.Otherwise, It works great, and you can’t beat the size and price. Definitely recommend it.

I use this switch as one in, two out. Amazon Fire Cube is the in, output 1 goes to an A/V Receiver/Amp which goes to TV input 1. Output 2 goes directly to the TV, input 2. The TV optical sound output goes to a wireless headset box. It all works perfectly.I tried this set up with a passive HDMI splitter, again one in and two out. The headset box didn't work. There was no audio in the head set. Using this switch solved the problem. Using output 2 of the switch, and input 2 of the TV, the headset box does relay the audio to the head set.For some reason, when the A/V Receiver/Amp is in play, using the splitter, the audio would just not work in the headset. It seems to be some odd HDMI issue that I could not resolve. The switch allows only one HDMI channel to be active at any one time, and that did solve the problem. The switch works fine. The remote works as expected with distance in my case of about 8 feet. There are three lights on the switch, all fairly bright red LEDs. One light is lit when there is power to the switch, which comes through the HDMI input from the fire cube. There is also a light for channel 1 and channel 2. They are all in a row, and it is easy to see which channel is active, 1 or 2. Switching speed is very fast. No problems so far.I see no degradation in HDMI signal due to the switch at all. The switch is very small and takes up almost no room. No complaints about this product at all. Truly 5 stars.
