Used these for a battery box I customized for my trolling motor battery. Worked perfectly allowing me access to the posts from outside of the box. Easy to install and included cap nuts work really nice for quick hook ups.

Built a LifePo4 on the go battery box for emergency power and added these on the box for the "what if" factor of not having the correct connector to power a device. These work perfect for just stripping and strapping a wire onto the post to get the necessary power.

Installed these through top of plastic battery case. Glad I went with the 5/16 vs. 3/8 - needed nothing larger. Your project current demand will determine if you need something bigger, but I didn't need anything handling over 20A - at very most. These are solid 5/16" brass post all the way through, and I would be comfortable with them handling up to 40 - 50A. More important that your connecting cables and connectors can handle the current necessary. The insulating turrets have an internal flange so they can be safely installed through a metal surface (~1/2" ID hole), but I would limit the plate thickness to ~ 1/8". If you have questions on recommended maximum safe plate thickness, I'd ask the manufacturer. Good quality, good value.
