These are GREAT at keeping things fresh. We use them with onions and the fridge doesn't smell at all.

No they were cheap wouldn’t work properly and they were hard to open and wouldn’t close.

This product respects the design goal of marrying Form and Function, but also adds Fun to the kitchen. There was a slight learning curve on opening and closing the avocado container, but after a few tries we figured out “it’s all in the wrist.” And avoid using for an *over ripe* tomato halve that can’t hold up to being closed up. Other wise the product is very easy to use as well as quite effective at keeping onion, citrus, tomatoes, and avocados fresh, containing potent onion smells, and protected in a overpacked fridge veggie drawer. This product is a winner!

These work so well! They come in lovely packaging and are easy to wash and store. My avocado stayed green for 3 days and my red onion is on it's 8th day and still looks freshly cut inside it's little tight container. My only suggestion is to have some bigger options, as some of my onions are much bigger than the biggest available receptacle in this array. But with the smaller vegetables, these are excellent storing options. I would say these are worth the price.

Like others I suspect, I ordered this set to cut down on one time use plastic bags and saran wrap. I appreciate that these containers are large, allowing for larger sized onions, tomatoes, and avocados, especially. The bases are fairly easy to unscrew and open, except for the avocado that was a tad bit tougher on that first opening and closing. The see through silicone cover has quite a bit of give, and allows you to view the item easily through the clear silicone. I had to remove the pit and turn the avocado face down on the flat surface of the avocado holder, in order to get maximum air coverage for the avocado surface area. Normally I would leave the pit in, to keep the flesh bright and green, but the way the avocado form is shaped doesn't allow the silicone top to optimally cover the avocado flesh, so face down seems to work best. The colors of each unit allow you to designate one container for onions, one for avocados, one for tomatoes, and one for apples or oranges, or whatever you please. I think these color designations are important to keep odors that might settle into the silicone container, separated. Apart from the issue with the avocados, I think these units will work to minimize our plastic bag and saran wrap use.

We eat a lot of avocados in my house and we constantly have a half left over at times. Typically my go-to is cling wrap, which works very well. I ordered this item mainly for the avocado saver. The shape and size of the holder does not work well at holding and covering the flesh surface. When compared to cling wrap the cling wrap does a better job at sealing off the flesh to the air. That being said the design of the product could be improved, the two halves can be difficult to get apart, having a silicone or rubber grip would make this easier. Dishing out the bottom side of the dish would be helpful also to secure the ROUND food items. At this time cling wrap wins, however cling wrap is single use plastic which I was hoping to get away from, but unfortunately this product is not my solution. As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I only select items I’m genuinely interested in and feel confident I can evaluate thoroughly. My reviews reflect my honest experience and understanding of the product.
