I've found that Bentgo makes the best food storage containers, and this new design is exceptional. The lids are glass bordered by silicon, with no plastic in sight, and they have a vent hole that works both to vent steam and to secure the contents. The lids have such a tight seal that I need to pop the vent hole in order to easily open or close them. I've used them to store leftovers that I then put directly into the oven (removing the lid first, of course). The small round ones are the perfect size for storing half a tomato or apple. The larger round one accommodated two servings of leftover rice. The containers are easy to clean either by hand or in the dishwasher. I've used at least one of them every day since I received them.The one problem I have, but not enough to mark them down a star, is that the vent closure makes them hard to stack with the lids on. They can, however, be stacked without the lids.

These glass food storage containers essentially have a built-in locking system. I couldn’t put the lid on without first opening the steam vent. Conversely, I had to open the steam vent before I could remove the lid. Well, okay—I could remove the lid without opening the vent, but it took considerable effort. This is due to the tight silicone seal, plus the lid is made from glass, which doesn’t flex like plastic to allow air displacement inside the container.These containers work great in the microwave for leftovers. It’s a simple process: take it out of the refrigerator, pull the steam valve, and place it into the microwave. The silicone seal also remains cooler when I remove the container from the microwave.The directions state that the containers are dishwasher safe, but the lids should be washed on the upper rack. They also note that if you use staining foods, like tomatoes, you should wash off the silicone quickly to avoid discoloration.These are very nice and useful containers. Over the years, I’ve subconsciously started using more glass containers than plastic—probably due to issues with staining, cleaning, and wear and tear. Plus, I feel better microwaving glass than plastic.

I'm always taking leftovers to work, or keeping leftovers for lunches on weekends. These Bentgo Glass Food Storage Containers are a good solution for that if you want glass rather than plastic containers! These containers are microwave safe, dishwasher safe, freezer safe, and oven safe (if you remove the lid).The first thing I have to point out is that the seal on these covers is absolutely air tight! You can't push the cover onto the lid without pulling open the little air hole tab first. And once the lid is on the container, if you plug the air hole tab, you literally cannot pull these covers off the top. It's actually quite stunning how powerful the seal is! Very big thumbs up to Bentgo for that!There are some downsides here though - first, the containers aren't very stackable even without the covers on, providing very little space savings when you try to stack them. This tends to be an issue with almost all glass food containers though. The other detail here I want to point out is that the white lids don't match. It's intended though - but I don't understand why. The white and off-white lids are interchangeable to the two small bowl containers. I imagine this was so you could distinguish them for some reason? Neither of these downsides is a dealbreaker and don't really hurt the function of these.Overall, these are great containers that seal VERY air tight!
