Love the American made axe. Quality construction with the only draw back would be a grip that would be more tacky for better gripping as this one is smooth wood. Time will tell how well this product handles

I bought the froe and the axe was a gift. The axe is light weight, has good balance and is very sharp out of the box. I chopped a 1" green cherry branch and I could cut it in 2 swings consistently. All in all it's a nice little camp axe but a little to light weight for my needs. The froe on the other hand is a chopping breast. It made short work of the larger circumference branches. Its balance and grip is perfect for my average sized hands and it was ridiculously easy to accurately hit the spot you wanted to chop, I can't say that about the axe. They are both great quality tools but if you can only get one spend the extra money and get the froe, you will not regret it.One last thing, I chunked up a lot of hardwood branches with these last night and they are both still damn sharp and the red coating shows very minimal wear.

One of my absolute favorites. Balance is great, full tang and handle quality is awesome. Cuts are high quality, comes pretty sharp but you'll probably want to sharpen it a tad more.

Carried this in my winter pack 16/17 dec. thur march and it came in handy. I like that it is liteweigh but still beefy. It came very sharp from the factory and held an edge very well. It also was easier to sharpen then I thought it would be, I use the puck to sharpen it twice and it worked well. I like the red coating, it hasn't chipped or flaked yet except for normal wear at the blade. The handle is comfortable both chopping and choking up and shaving or carving. It made it through one season and so far so well. I like it and the price is a little high but fair, for a hatchet to carry every day in a day pack this is a good choice. I also like the matching Froe.

I really am gonna enjoy this hatchet. Just got it and chopped up some.wood for a.bonfire. I have been using the estwing sportsman hatchet, which is actually a little more effective due to the extra heft, but it is a bit heavy for a pack when hiking/camping. The item is very sharp upon arrival. The quality is really top notch. I really like it.

This is top quality from Buck. Razor sharp. Fit and finish really nice. Only drawback is that the product is all one piece and as such, it is too thin to use for hammering while turned around backwards. On the other hand, as all one solid piece, there's nothing to break. It's almost so nice I don't want to even use it.

Great looking axe I found it to be a little to light, and I feel the handle should have a better grip so it does not slip out of your hand not that it has it just feels as if it would. The good part about this axe is it is well made and really does look nice and it does feel good in your hand it just needs maybe a rubber grip and a little more weight to the head of the axe and I would have given it 5 stars.

a nice, small heavy hatchet. It came razor sharp with a beautiful leather sheath. It is my opinion that the product is wildly overpriced for what you are getting.

This is a great high quality pack axe. I think it's really great and it's very sturdy. Is made of a strong spring steel and is full tang with a triple pin wooden scale handle. Its fairly hefty however the quality is well worth the weight in my pack.
