We were very pleased with this coffee grinder because it is modern and digital. My wife and I are able to try so many different types of coffee beans now. We were both bored and tired of having instant coffee every morning, so we decided to invest our time into actually making it! We are now able to try different high quality coffee beans in different forms. This coffee grinder has over 70 adjustable levels and settings which is amazing! We were finally able to make our own espresso by hand, and try different types of french press. We also like to store the different flavors of coffee beans away, so now we have so much variety to choose from.We also thought the stainless steel design was a great touch because we are able to keep it very clean. This would be a great gift for someone who loves coffee or for special occasions.

Coffee, like so many consumer items, has become fetishized. Even you local supermarket is likely to have 20 or more types of beans at prices that can make your eyes water. If you fancy yourself a barista, you understand that the most critical metric for a good cup of coffee is the type of bean and its freshness. The next most important metric is how that bean is ground into the the size, shape and quantity that will allow your coffee machine (the THIRD most important metric) to extract all of the flavor with none of the bitterness and do it with the least amount of fuss. That is where this machine comes in .You can buy your coffee already ground or have it ground for you at many places. Even Costco maintains a coffee grinding machine at the front of the store for those who have bought whole beans. But grinding the beans when you aren't ready to brew them risks losing flavor and freshness. You can grind it yourself when you need it using a manual grinder (tedious but people swear by it) or a mechanical grinder. Or you can buy this lovely machine which will grind your beans more or less instantly to your exact specifications, deposit the grind into your portafilter (or included airtight container) and keep your whole beans fresh in an airtight container until the next occasion. The CasaBrews machine is almost infinitely adjustable--for grind time, size and quantity. It uses a conical burr system which avoids heating your grind as it is being pulverized and thus conserves the essential oils which give your cuppa the taste you want. Once you have determined what you like best, the machine will replicate your settings easily time after time. The variability of settings allows you a chance to experiment with customizing your grind--and allows you to become more of a connoisseur than simply buying your beans ground--or using a lesser machine to give you its preset.I have a coffee machine from this brand and have used it daily for a couple of years with no issues. I suspect the coffee grinder is equally well designed and built and it feels very solid. The footprint on the kitchen counter is not obnoxious but is a consideration for smaller kitchens and especially if you have (or intend to) invest in a large, sophisticated coffee machine which can take up more room than large toaster oven.Grinding your own beans this way is probably not for everyone. But doing so is really almost as important a contributor to how your coffee tastes as which beans you buy.Worth considering.
