Coffee Carafe Compatible With Moccamaster Carafe

Through my experience of approximately 40 years on Earth so far , I have learned that it is always a good idea to have a replacement on hand for certain things. One of those is the coffee carafe for my husband’s favorite coffee maker.Since our current carafe hasn’t broke (yet), I am able to show you side-by-side comparison photos, and can assure you that this replacement is a near identical exact match. As other reviewers have said the only difference is the plastic is a little bit less sturdy, than the oem , and there is also a metal band on this one that they do not have on the mochamaster branded one. Other than this, it is a perfect fit and engages the stop properly/pours properly.Take my advice and buy this now before your other one breaks, so that you will never again have the heartache of a broken mocha master...As my husband always says, a mocha master is always better than a “broke a master”! Nice alternative to the original Moccamaster coffee carafe. It performs just as good as the one that came with the unit. It feels ever so slightly a little heavier so that may mean its more solid....dont know for sure because the lid feels a little less well made then the original but the actual pot feels more solid so, its a wash...I guess. All in all tho, the price is fair and this performs just as good as the one with the unit, so I have to say its almost perfect.......You shouldnt be dissapointed. Tell em Rico sent you, and have a fresh cup waiting for me when you get there.....(wherever your headed)

Those of you who have a Moccamaster KBG know that its carafe is one of its weakest links. For me, the spout of the original carafe was poorly designed and the carafe would spill easily unless you were very careful when pouring. I was constantly having to clean up the counter after friends and family would pour coffee not knowing how spill-prone the original carafe was. I am happy to report that this alternative carafe has largely solved this problem. I experimented with many different pouring techniques and it is apparent the spout of this carafe is just different enough that most pours are now spill free. My counter is very pleased.This replacement carafe is also beefier than the stock one. The stock one weighs in at 12 oz, while the replacement weighs 14 oz.My only complaint is that the plastic of this carafe appears to be slightly lower quality than that of the stock Moccamaster one. The lid in particular feels a bit more flimsy. Fortunately the lids can be swapped, so my recommendation is to keep the standard Moccamaster lid and put it on this replacement carafe. That will get you the best of both worlds.

When comparing these carafes side-by-side, this one is an exact match to the original except for the metal band that helps hold the handle on. The plastic that lid is made out seems to be slightly lesser quality than the original, but it fits perfectly and engages the drip stop so that's really all that's needed.
