Some automotive manufacturers install a special socket on the vehicle to be used for vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Although this special socket is not equipped on every vehicle, a CURT custom wiring connector -- also called a T-connector -- utilizes the socket for simple, stress-free installation. Plug and play right out of the box on the 2003 jeep grand cherokee 4.0. Just pop off some back left panels and locate the green OEM harness plug. Plug this kit straight into that and it'll work like a charm. If not working check your fuses first could be a blow fuse I was fortunate enough to not have that issue though.I have yet to install it where the wires are hidden as of right now I just had the extended four pin just laying in the back cargo area as I was limited on time the day I installed this but eventually I'll get around to doing more of a professional install and routing it around through the body and down coming up from the back side of the hitch. But great product makes it easy to obtain trailer lighting on the wj Jeeps.

Nice custom fit wiring harness, Pretty much plug and play - BUT the instructions leave a lot to be desired, Poor picture and diagrams leave some steps missing. Overall a good quality harness but some mechanical knowledge is needed.

All you need is a phillips head screwdriver. remove a few screws to pop the interior panels loose and plug it in. The only way it could be easier is if someone else did it for you.

Ordered this for my 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Once you remove the interior panels you just plug it into the connector that is already there and trailer is set to light up.
