Despite what the Amazon discretion says it does work for a 2021 GMC Terrain with the factory tow package. The included relay were not required for my application.

Very easy install for any car that doesn’t come with the trailer wire harness built in. Only took about 10 minutes to install. Plug and play on most car models that it is compatible with.

As indicated in a previous review, the Relays do not fit in securely. The rest of the unit looks sufficient.

This was a perfect fit for my 2018 Chevy Equinox. It plugs in behind the rear bumper in the center. Look it up on YouTube to see how to install it. Instead if mounting the plug outside. I run it thur a already exciting hole under the space tire. When I need it I pull it out the back hatch and plug it in. It keeps the plug from getting dirty and crowding in the winter time.

So, I’m sure it would be easy to install if it’s what I needed. There’s an installation video by U-Haul for a 2022 Equinox. They are using this or a harness identical to this one. The 2022 has the relay slots in the video, BUT this DOES NOT work for a 2022. I kind of figured it wouldn’t, but was being optimistic in ordering the cheaper harness. If you have a 2022, the harness you need is Manufacturer Part Number: 56429

The plug was cheap and hard to plug my trailer into it. I also found out the 2017 to 2020 equinox has a fault in the relays. THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL AND BRAKE LIGHT WILL NOT WORK. After about 8 hours of troubleshooting a brand new 5X8 single axil trailer I found this out. I rewired the trailer and placed new rear lights on it and still could not get the left turn signal and left brake light to work. I then asked my neighbor to back his truck up to my trailer and the lights worked fine. I was at a lost and upon the 8th google search I found a forum that stated that GM had this problem with their equinox vehicles. The cure was to replace the left incandescent bulb with a LED light that you can get anywhere. The plug still registered that voltage was going back to the lights and the tester I bought said that all of the lights were functioning, but the relay system in the vehicle was not sending enough current back to the specified light functions to make them work. This fixed the problem. If only someone would have told me this at the beginning. I hope this feedback review will save someone many hours of unnecessary grief.

Wire harness installation takes 1 minute and was a perfect fit. I installed it on a 2019 GMC Terrain with a factory towing package, which comes with a 30amp relay to support the trailer lighting so there's no use for the two 15 amp relays that come with the kit, however the good people at General Motors did not include the left side of the trailer wiring in the equation. So what does this mean... basically your right side lights will work perfectly, but the left side will not have enough current to flash the turn signal, there's enough to support the running lights, and a tester will pass all checks (except if you use a very good volt meter) this all adds to the confusion. So what do you do if the left turn signal doesn't work. Install LED lights on your trailer, the low to no current necessary to run an LEDs will solve all your problems.
