This is a nice small kit for simple irrigation scheduling. There are no additional sensors for soil temperature or moisture however, so if using this in an enclosed but non insulated location that might be something worth considering when working out a watering plan. The instructions are simple as well as the assembly processes. There are two hoses included, one thicker hose for the intake and a longer thinner hose for connecting irrigation points. An intake filter is also included which is nice to see, as the reservoir needs to be located at a lower point than the pump and irrigation points. This prevents fallen debris from being pulled back into the pump. The pump module itself is fairly simple but has a strong motor and good battery life. It will run at a set gpm regardless of how many irrigation points are added, and the manual provides some guidance on how to calculate watering times based on the number of outputs. It does not have any Bluetooth or "smart" control features for it, and needs to be programmed via the panel buttons on its front. Programming is fairly easy and straight forward, however I feel this panel could have benefitted from an additional button or combo press to move backwards when setting intervals. Even though days between watering and minutes per interval are easy to set separately, if I went accidentally too far and needed to backtrack, I would need to cycle through the entire range to get it to loop around. This was the only tedious experience I had when setting this up for the first time. Once set however it is largely hands-off.The only other critique I can think of while using this product is the way it operates while idle. Since I could "set and forget" a schedule with this and have it in my garage, I often wonder if it is still watering the plants every few days. I quick check with my hand for soil moisture does fine, but I think what would really improve this product is if it had a LED that flashed briefly every minute or so to signal that it is still holding a battery charge and is operational. There is a Lo message that will appear on the device when the battery is low, but if that is missed, it is possible it could run out of power without the operator knowing. This has not been a major issue however but is worth noting.Overall, this is a great simple watering solution. It is well constructed and includes everything needed, including a good quality cutting tool, to get started. The only things I had to add were the plants themselves and a water tray to pull from. At around $20 at the time of this review, I think this is a great value.

This mini irrigation kit comes with everything pictured. I already have a few identical pairs of the snips spread around all of my plants and garden kit and absolutely love them and use them all the time. But it seemed an unnecessary but nice addition...until I tried assembling everything. The kit is a downright nightmare to assemble. Nothing fits together without a struggle and the instructions are that eensy piece of paper and very vague. The snips I needed to cram inside the tubing and twist to make it slightly larger so the tubing would fit anything. The tubing comes in two sizes with no indication about which is used for what - I used the larger bore for everything and it was still a struggle to fit anything together. The filter (that floats and shouldn't) and drip sticks that stick into the substrate are the worst offenders. And the sticks are necessary. Because without those to slow the water, that little pump sprayed water everywhere. At least it has good pressure? The instructions for operation are so vague and unhelpful that you're basically left to figure it out yourself. The programming allows duration and how much water, but is fiddly and I haven't been able to get it to consistent results. If you want to change either value, you're going to be pressing buttons for a while. In the end it does work. It's a headache but water got where it needed to go. The last thing of note is that all of your plants will need the same watering schedule - so it's good for starters but most of the plants I'd like to keep alive while on a long trip have different requirements and I don't think I'll be buying additional irrigation units.

This is a great system to have when you're traveling out for a few days. I always have this anxiety about my indoor plants when I travel, so this is a very nice system to have. You can set it to water your plants from 1 to multiple (upto 9) times a day, for a duration ranging from 1 second to 199 seconds each time. The system was very easy to set up and provides a lot of functionality for your indoor plants. Using the drip arrows provided, you can prevent any leakage. Just ensure that you don't set up the system for overwatering which could cause drainage from the bottom of your planters. The system does have some drawbacks -1. all your plants get the same rate of water flow.2. you need to keep all your plants close together to take advantage of this system.3. You cannot set up the timer to water on alternate days.In spite of these issues, this is a great basic system have to to ensure that your plants stay healthy, especially when you're away for an extended period. For a recent list price of $20, this system is a steal! I recommend this product.
