We have had our EGO Power string trimmer for years and have loved it. However, the replacement string is running out far faster than it has in the past. It took us 3 rolls to do the edging on half of our 1 acre yard. It seems as if it is breaking far easier than before.

This product works well, but I feel like the string is breaking easier or more often than it used to be. Years ago a single roll could last an entire season plus a little into the next. Lately, it seems like two rolls minimum each year, and this year I’ve already done through one. Nothing has changed with landscaping borders or area on my end, not sure what the difference is. But notwithstanding, it’s a great product and works as intended and better then other products.

I bought these as a stop gap measure for my daughter to use around our farm while I was in the hospital. They where easy to install and she did not have to fool with wrapping line off of the spool I normally use. Now I have a couple of extra spools I can keep wrapped and ready to go while cleaning up fence line. Kent D.

It fits my Ego trimmer, but the string product is not available at the stores that sell the trimmer itself and believe me I looked everywhere. I am so glad that I was able to order the product online. I am learning to appreciate my computer and Amazon more every year.

We have the EGO Trimmer, and we have used it enough to completely run through the line. I was looking online and saw many different items being sold as replacements. It was at least a little confusing. I bought this unit hoping what it would meet all of my needs.Needless to say, it worked out well. The EGO unit was easy to work on. I pressed in the button on either side of the enclosure and it popped off. I removed the empty spool. With this spool, I pulled the cable out of the hole so it would unwind. I made sure that there was enough line pulled out for trimmer operation, then placed it properly in the enclosure and closed it back up. This took all of 5 minutes. I have used the trimmer and everything seems to be working fine. I will report back if anything goes awry.As a side note, this was the original spool being replaced. Apparently, when the line gets low enough, it just spins off the spindle. It is probably 6 inches or so of line that becomes unusable.

Perfect replacement for my EGO trimmer.This drop and go replacement spool was greatly appreciated. I swapped out my old empty spool and replaced it with this one in about 3 minutes. If I had the time I would wind my own but I would also have to buy the string and spend the time winding. I did keep my empty spool so that I can wind my own when I have the time so I would recommend to everyone to keep the old spool as others may want them or keep them for yourself and wind them up. Definitely check out videos online on how to wind your own.The quality of the string is the same that came with my EGO string trimmer. The bump-feep operation works perfectly. I would recommend putting this spool into the bump feed piece first then pulling the strings through the bump feeder to about 8 " on either side and then slide onto the string trimmer. I found this easier than placing into the trimmer and trying to do the reverse which it seems thats how the directions want you to do it. Really there is no wrong way but I found my way easier than the instructions.Whack away!
