They work fine under light use. Because they are a bottom plate contacting the ground and spinning rapidly, they take a lot of wear, and typically don't last long. The soft plastic guarantees it wears faster than a harder plastic, ... just plan on changing them more ofter than you might expect.

These are hard to find since this particular weed wacker has been discontinued and replaced with a different style feeding system. This cap fit like the original.
