Facmogu 2PCS Aslatua Authentic Rhythm African Shaker, Aslatuas Rhythmic Ball for Lovers Beginners, Hand Shaker Balls

What is Kashaka Instrument?

  • A Kashaka is a traditional poly rhythmic percussion instrument originating in Africa. These kashaka (also known as banakula, aslatua, Asalato or Cas Cas) are robustly made Rhythmic Percussion Instruments. The strong and hard plastic shells are filled with iron sand to give a nice loud shaker sound.

Why Buy a Plastic Kashaka?

  • African kashaka made from natural gourds tend to be expensive to buy. Our plastic kashaka offer an affordable alternative. Being a natural product, real gourd kashaka will differ in shape, size and robustness, whereas these plastic kashaka are consistently hard-wearing with a uniform size, sound and weight. Real gourd kashaka usually have a fixed cord length, with the cord glued into the gourds. The cord length on our ABS plastic kashaka can easily be adjusted. Real gourd kashaka are more fragile than skilltoyz plastic kashaka. So plastic kashaka are a great way to try this fascinating instrument.

How to Resize the Aslatua String to Fit Your Hand?

  • Undo one knot and re-tie the knot so the cord is a suitable length. Do not remove the cord from the hole through the shell or the filling will come out!

  • There are no firm rules about how long the cord on your kashaka should be, make it whatever length best suits you.

  • Make sure the knot remains secure - check it from time to time.

Sound decent. It's tricky to learn, but I imagine with practice you can get there. It feels sturdy enough and since you can adjust the string, it should fit different hand sizes, though maybe not really tiny hands. They aren't too heavy nor too light. The wooden ones might sound more authentic, but these are a good price and great for practice before you invest in a more expensive one. The videos on these make them look easy, but they really do require practice like any other instrument.

Good instrument to start with. My hands are pretty small, so they feel so huge.

These are so worth it, but they triggered my roommates anxiety. I was sad to have to return them.

One end of string was not tied on one set. Tiny metal balls everywhere. Pulled one out of bag then pulled other one from bag, one ball hit the floor and itty bitty metal bb's went everywhere. One ball in my hand and one on the floorAs long as you are careful picking them up first time they are probably fine. They feel good in my hand although Lighter than the other synthetic set i have. Not as light as cork set. A good in between. I'm undecided about the sound on the one i can use. Its plastic with metal 🤷🏻‍♀️

This wasn't quite what I expected. While it's functional, the material feels a bit light (it's made of plastic). I don’t recommend this item. It’s better to pay a bit more and get the original one or a different material besides plastic. Plastic doesn’t sound natural. Don’t waste your money on this one.

I have small hands and the set I had before this didn't work for me as the length of the cord was in no way adjustable. This set has an adjustable cord, which means I can work with it! Very well made and sturdy in construction.

I really like this product and it's the second time I purchased it, Hoping for a little smaller ball. My hands are too small to maneuver this set. Unfortunately the individual balls are a bit too big and cumbersome for me. Still seeking a smaller set. sure wish they would make a smaller set, like maybe a child size for smaller hands.
