I got this for a Christmas gift for someone and he absolutely loved it. Not to sure about anything else but he hasn't complained to me about it so I am assuming it is good.

The pen rights really well, but after a couple letters, the federal on the pen is already falling apart. There's hot glue strands showing how well they put together the items. The wax pellets seem more like plastic and I don't know if it's the consistency of the pellets or the gears in the seal itself, but it just not want to lift and half the time rips the wax seal from the paper. The spoon to heat up the wax gets really really hot and you can't hold it with your bare hands. It's a very cute set. I just wish that it was a little higher quality.The worst part is having to use in oven mitt to hold the spoon while it's heating up the waxThe calligraphy nibs themselves are really nice and bright very smoothlyAlso, it's only comes with one envelope and one piece of paper so you'll want to provide your own

Overall, I like this set and it's a fun intro to ink pens and wax seals, but do not use the included wax spoon, and definitely don't let any kids use it. I'll go over each part.Quill: Fun to use and easy (normal) to change nibs. Weird to hold but fun once you get used to it and it looks cool and well-made.Wax beads: Fun and easy to use, normal quality.Tea candle: Decent with good burn time and height.Nibs: 50/50, some write really well (4 and 5 are my favorites!) but the wide ones don't work well and don't hold ink well.Bookmark: Needs to be bent so it doesn't dent your papers.Ink: Good, normal-quality dip pen ink.Letter opener: Great and super fun to use, dull enough that I'm not worried about hurting myself.Stamp: Decent, but super detailed so you'll need to get it cold and use super hot wax. The stamp is interchangeable with my others, the post uses standard screws so I can use any of my other seals with it and vice versa.Pen stand: Super cute, feels high quality, and holds the pen well (I don't use it because of my cat, but without a cat it would be fine)Wax Spoon: DO NOT USE. This is incredibly, incredibly dangerous. Most of these have wood handles, but this one is all metal. That means that the entire spoon will be heating, so to melt the wax the whole spoon has to be hot enough to melt the wax. I used my spoon stand and almost burnt myself picking this up (my other metal spoon isn't nearly this bad). It also means the wax can't get warm enough to melt properly for a stamp this detailed. I tried it without using my stand too, to see if that would help, and it was just as bad, I had to hold on to the feather at the end and the wax was still thick and sludgy when I poured it, but I had no choice because the handle was getting too hot.So, overall, great, pretty set that looks great and looks and feels high quality, but get a separate wax spoon and stand, and definitely don't let any kids use the wax spoon that comes with it. I won't be using it, but will keep it for display only, it's too shallow and too hot to use.
