Personally speaking, this style of mount is best suited for low recoil and airsoft applications as the clamp can and will mar your barrel and slip if you don't use any kind of interface such as high temp rubber or the like.Past that, this mount would be perfectly fine for .22 or other low recoil applications (airsoft for instance) for mounting things such as flashlights. I wouldn't trust it to hold an optic or a hand grip as it will move on you.If your need is anything listed above than it should work just fine for you.

I live in the wild and have preditors come in at night to feed on my livestock. I ordered this to put on my shotgun to add a light for night visibility. Shooting running animals in the dark is easier with shot rather than individual rounds. Also better on packs of animals. This works great! I added slim rubber to protect my barrel. Machining is good and for $10 it's hard to beat!

I got the FSI BM003 Barrel Mount with 3 Slots Picatinny Rail for my pre-ban AR to add a bipod to it. I would suggest a thin layer of foam between it and the barrel as the sizing is pretty close though a little on the large size, but it will also protect the exterior of your barrel. It clamps down nicely and tightly with the foam and works perfectly to mount the bipod. If you do not have any way to mount a bipod, flashlight or laser sight, use the FSI BM003 Barrel Mount with 3 Slots Picatinny Rail, it works perfectly!

These small accessories are nice to have around if you decide to attach something new.

This made it possible to mount a flashlight to my shotgun. It was simple to install and now I have a flashlight on my shotgun. Thanks

This is likely used for shot guns, given that its a pretty wide minimum gap. It didnt fit on my 5.56 barrel.I had already planned to put rubber spacers in it anyways, because i didnt want the metal on metal contact scratching my barrel.SO this did work for me as I used some pretty thick, strong rubber. But i wouldn't use it for anything that needs accurate placement or that will be handled a lot as its going to shift. Nor would I recommend putting this on a barrel, unless you want it damaged. This was a project to add an attachment and i modded it to do what i needed it to. But I wouldnt just buy this and use it alone the way it is.

This allowed me to mount a bi pod on my Hatsan 135 break barrel air rifle. Due to the range of motion of the barrel, you can't mount a bipod on the bottom of the stock on these rifles. I also didn't want to drill holes in the side of the nice wooden stock to install picatinny rails for side mount bipods. This allowed me to use a bipod without making any permanent modifications to the rifle. I did put a layer of thin foam in between this clamp and the barrel to prevent marring. Gas piston air rifles have some pretty extreme recoil, far more than many firearms. So far this is holding steady even with the foam layer.

This simply clamps over any barrel and creates a Picatinny rail. For those firearms that you want to add an accessory to, but have no mounting point. Install, tighten, and instant picatinny rail! Great accessory that is modular.
