The quality is amazing! Thick stainless steel, an amazing value for your money! I'm not sure why there is thread tape, because it does not leak and fits the hose securely. Going forward, this will be the ONLY valve allowed on my Eley hoses!!

The build quality is great, I had no problem with leakage, and I like that it included a couple extra washers and pipe tapeThere are two slight cons that make this a four star vs five star product:- it's pretty hard to turn the valve, especially initially. (maybe over time it'll get better?)- it restricts the flow somewhat. not as bad as others I've seen, but does a bit non-the-lessOverall it's great for my use case with soaker hoses, but might not be ideal if you're trying to run a full size garden hose setup with sprinklers - It'd depend on your supply pressure and what sprinklers you're using

Full disclosure, I am an Amazon Vine reviewer and so I requested this hose shutoff for review. That being said, I will always give an honest review and opinion.Positives:- Allows us to disconnect the hose from one soaker line and attach it to anothet without going to the faucet.Negatives:- Does not fully shutoff water.- Difficult to use. This is a great idea that needs better quality control and design. One of the problems is that the lever for the shutoff is short and hard for my wife to throw all the way. So this leads to some spray coming out after disconnecting. The other issue is that when the lever IS thrown all the way by me, it still leakes.I'll be taking it apart and seeing if I can fix the leak. Also, I'll see about adding a longer lever.

This is a very high-quality product. It's very heavy and made of stainless steel. This is truly a full flow valve, so you don't lose any volume of water or pressure. I use it to hook up to soaker hoses and it actually causes them to put out more water because they get more water. The on and off lever is very nice also. it has risers on it to give you a better grip in turning it making it much easier to use. I couldn't be any happier with how it functions. Since it's stainless steel and so well made, this product is a very good value for the money. I plan on it being around a very long time.

Before I get into the features I do not care for, let me tell you the pros:+Is heavy duty construction- feels bomb-proof.+Large 3/4" with a .57" inside flow diameter- great for large commercial grade garden hoses.+304 stainless steel & durable design- give me confidence it will last a long time.+Good value- I usually buy Dramm as they are the best on the market but also cost more than double. What I do not like is that it is HEAVY compared to a good quality (IE Dramm) brass valve. I also do not like the small valve lever. And being advertised a stiff lever/valve, the size makes it more difficulty to quickly shut down/open. This makes it great for a wall mount (like shown in their advertisement description) but not so much for a valve before a sprayer.Still, I give it 5 stars for the pros. But the features I do not like are nevertheless described, they just do not fit my needs.

This shutoff is perfect to put on the ends of heavily used garden hoses. From all I can tell, it is built solid and I expect to obtain a long life out of it. It comes packaged very well, they even slipped a protective sleeve over the thread, nice touch! It does turn a little harder than I expected, but I'm ok with that because it feels like sturdiness, not flimsiness. And the handle is sized and shaped well so it doesn't hurt your fingers when turning. And finally, one more criticism: Why do they waste resources by sending Teflon tape with garden hose attachments? That makes no sense on connections with washers, because you cannot prevent leakage at the thread itself. It is only a source of confusion for first time gardeners, in my opinion.
