These GreenShip self watering spikes are great. I love how I can just add them to my existing planters and use them with any pot without drainage. They work great and dont make the soil too wet.

I got the small size spikes, and they’re solid—but just a heads-up: if your setup involves keeping the nursery pot lifted inside a decorative outer planter (like mine), these might not reach the bottom where the water sits. That’s not the seller’s fault—they clearly show the pot resting deeper inside the outer container. I just prefer to keep my pots elevated to avoid dirt falling in, and mosquitoes. That said, these are sturdy and easy to use. I only used two since my plant isn’t heavy, but you can use more to keep things balanced. The spikes hold the inner pot well, and even though the provided rope was a bit short for my setup, I just used my own string and threaded it through the same spot. The contact between the ropes is enough for capillary action to pull water up. You could also just fill your water higher to make it work. What I really love is that I didn’t have to repot anything. I usually make my own wick system, but that involves running a rope through the pot and soil before planting—so basically repotting. These spikes let you keep the plant in its original nursery pot and set things up instantly. Just pop the spikes in, drop it into your pretty pot, add water to the bottom, and done. Perfect for when you bring home a new plant and don’t want to shock it right away.If you’re all about convenience and minimal effort like me, this is a great system. Just make sure to measure your planter height so you get the right size spike.Photos:1) how I tweaked it2) my new plant3) before adding water4) after adding water to the bottom

these spikes are perfect for plants left at the office, they keep my plants hydrated and can be inserted into any thin plastic container easily - just be sure that the plant isn't already root bound in the plastic container so that it has room to grow - you'll also need to add a plate underneath or place these and your plant into a larger container to hold the extra water reservoir

This is my first time bottom watering and these may it really easy. They're easy to insert into nursery pots. The water flows well and the system prevents over watering. It also helps prevent fungus gnats, which were an issue when I was only top watering. Great value.
