Sadly, this guitar doesn’t live up to the Guild reputation. I wanted it to be great so bad because I love everything about this guitar on paper, but in practice it’s just not well made. I love the design with the matte finish and black accents, and it’s so hard to find an acoustic guitar that’s not electrified, but unfortunately this guitar is a major letdown. For starters, they all have a super weird defect where the finish delaminates from the headstock logo causing bubbles of sorts to form between the two layers. It looks terrible. And I know it’s a widespread manufacturing issue because I went through three of them. That’s right. I wanted to love this guitar so much that I replaced my initial order twice, but after the third one came in with the same defect, I figured it was time to give up. Funny enough, I saw one on the wall at guitar center while I was doing my return and it also had the same issue. Also, of the 3 I had, they were all setup completely differently each with their own issues. The first one needed a shim because the bridge was cut too low. The second one had the bridge way too high making the action super high, but it also had a high fret down toward the body which made fixing the action pretty tough. Third one came in with decent action, but another high fret near the same area. Overall, just don’t waste your time like I did. I really just wish these cost $100 more and were made with skill. Such a shame.
