I thought the thread length was too short, but I cancelled my return because I stupidly forgot to place a gasket. 😞 MY BAD. It all fit once I had prepped it correctly.

Using this on my water line leading to a tiny pump that waters a small greenhouse. With this addition (and a shutoff valve on top) I solved the problem of easily wetting the pump impeller before startup. If for any reason water runs back in the line (despite having a footvalve), I simply open the shutoff valve and fill water from there. It is a sturdy fitting, no leaks, will last for a very long time.
