Lightweight and portable for easy carrying in the field, these Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Shooting Earbuds deliver excellent in-ear hearing protection and situational awareness. When turned off and used simply as shooting earplugs the noise reduction rating is an impressive 29 dB. Once turned on, the earbuds actively listen and stop sound amplification when encountering loud impulse noises that exceed 85 dB, such as gunfire. Environment awareness is ensured as the shooting earbuds feature 6X sound amplification of low level frequencies with eight different volume settings for more natural, realistic hear-through in the field. Two omni-directional microphones further enhance hearing by letting you know the direction from which a sound originates. Combined with the hearing override, these features makes the earbuds ideal for listening for game and other forest noises while hunting. Soft, foam eartips ensure longwearing comfort, and the flexible, moldable earhook provides a safe, secure fit. These electronic earbuds are well-suited for weekend hunts and shooting excursions as the 200mAh lithium battery offers 50 hours of continuous run-time and a quick two-hour recharge time. A convenient carrying case is also included which allows the entire kit to be tucked away in a pocket during down times.

I purchased this product just over one month ago. And was initially impressed. They fit well, are comforable, and have appropriate battery life. Since purchase, I have taken it out to the range on five occasions. Today, I was packing my bag to head to the range and put these in and turned them on to ensure that they were charged and ready to go. To my surprise, the right earbud lit up with loud static that only terminated when I powered off the headphones. I have reached out to Honeywell support and will update this review if I hear back. These are entirely useless in this condition except as normal earplugs in the powered off state. I would expect more than a month's light duty use for the price I paid.

Worked fine at first but despite always handling them carefully, especially the wire, the left ear stopped working within one month of purchase and within one year the battery would not hold any charge and they will go into the garbage. Not worth the money.

I own several different pairs of Howard leigh hearing protection devices. These are now going to be main "go to" pair and I'll use my others as a spair pair. I love them that much! But before I tell you why I love them so much, let me first start by telling you that when I put these in my ears the first time, I didn't love em. In fact I, I wasn't impressed at all. They only blocked out about 75% of the sound, and the amplification of the sounds and voices  that I did want to hear, was so low that it almost felt non-existent. I even tried turning the volume all the way up, and I could barely hear people talking. I started to closely examine the earbuds, and I realized that there were three different sizes. The size that came installed on the buds, is the largest of the three sizes. I decided to try the smallest of the three sizes since I have very tiny ear holes. Wow, the difference was so noticeable right away. After using the smaller size, I noticed a couple things about these buds.• The material of the bud reminds me of the buds audiologist use when doing hearing test. They are super soft and spongy.• The buds must be pushed well into the ear canal in order to create a somewhat tight seal to not allow any sound to come in.• The ear hook should be bended to the shape of the ear to take tension off of the buds and prevent them from slowly coming out.• If it becomes difficult understand voices or hear the clarity of things, there's a good chance I don't have a good seal in the ear and that some unwanted sound is finding its way in.I wear hearing protection a lot , and I wear it in all types of environments. Sometimes I'm in a tight space where my head barely fits, and sometimes I have to put my face super close to a something I'm using or working on. I'm happy to say that these don't interfere with either of those things.Another things I've noticed with trying to use hearing protection where I live is that most hearing protection often makes me really hot. It's already usually 95-100° degrees where I live in Texas so what usually ends up happening is I get so hot that I take my hearing protection out to cool off for a bit and let the sweat around my ears dry and then forget to put it back in when I'm around loud noises again. I can comfortably wear these without worrying about them making me super hot and risking not having protection in.They come in a nice little soft case that fits well in a back pocket or cargo shorts. Now let me tell you about the first time I tested these out when  I was inside of my house and I was hitting metal against metal which made loud sharp noises that were powerful enough that my family came out of their rooms to figure out what was going on because it was so loud. I just looked over at them like, "Wait, you can hear that?" I could hear the sound with the in, but it wasn't a painful sharp sound. Next, I listened to the sound once without the hearing protection in, and I realized how loud it was and why my family was coming out of their rooms. The last thing I want to make sure that I mention about these is the superb clarity of the speakers inside the buds. I can only imagine that the technology involved in making these buds is pretty advanced because I can clearly hear every word that someone says while wearing these. I fully recommend these to anyone needing hearing protection, especially those who want to be able to communicate with others or be more aware of the environment and sounds around them.

𝘁𝗹;𝗱𝗿: Reproduces audio far too sharply, hurts ears.─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:Usually, I wear a Walker's Razor and shoot at an indoor range. I have no gripes with that headset, besides the fact that I tend to develop some sweat in between the synthetic pads and my head. However, I saw this form factor and figured I could give it a go. I took it to the range with a Glock 44, and my impressions were such:🔫 They come with three different sized tips, with the medium-size being the default. With headphones, I tend to use smaller silicone ear tips. The medium-size foam tips for these made a good seal without discomfort.🔫 I like the way Honeywell's developed the fit around the ear. The 'cable' that extends from the earbud portion has some sort of formable metal center, meaning you can shape it to your ear shape and it holds there. That's fantastic.🔫 Because of the bulk of each microphone enclosure, it sits oddly on the back of your neck. You don't feel it, but it does look a little goofy. That's not an issue of practicality as much as it is one of aesthetics.🔫 Here's the key issue. The audio it reproduces is far too harsh. With my Razor, shooting a .22 isn't anything special. On the lowest volume of these earbuds, each shot feels like it pierces my ears with sibilance. The shooters in my adjacent lanes' firearms made me wish I didn't have ears. I had to keep it powered off to have a comfortable shooting experience, which defeats the purpose of this product. These earphones just don't feel fully thought out. They've flubbed their main functionality by rendering gunshots painful to hear. The designers/engineers focused too much on the auxiliary bits like comfort and not enough on its main purpose. These definitely won't see any more use for me.
