I have a 2012 MacBook Pro laptop computer. Had just ordered a new 2024 MacBook Pro online when the charger I've used forever stopped working. I looked really hard multiple times online for a new charger. Finally found this Replacement AC Adapter, Model #A85 hoping it'd be close enough to the former one to be usable. What a great relief to receive it REALLY FAST and find that it was PERFECT!!!

This a great product I tried 3 different chargers one would not stayed attached the other would but a light touch and it would stop charging. This one however had a strong connection the magnet holding in place is strong. So strong in fact that you could slide the computer across your desk by just pulling on the connector. It looks just the same as the Apple charger I had and charged the computer just as fast. And for those who read this review and think why sould I pay a few extra dollars for virtually the same thing trust it is not the same. This worked for my MacBook Pro mid 2012.

One great Apple Macbook Pro replacement charger! I was really hesitant ordering this but but a dire need broke all of that doubt for I haven't used my Macbook Pro for so long that there's no more charge in it left so it died for the charging chord that came with unravelled exposing the raw wires inside and I was really disappointed at Apple thinking they're supposed to be better than this. So I ordered it making sure the size of the charging port was a 5/8" instead of the 1/2" and I immediately used it the minute the box arrived from the amazon locker and to my surprise?....This thing really WORKS just like the original charger that the main plug was also magnetic to the socket just like the original charger but 1/4 of the price! Apple would've charge me an easy $80.00 for this item but i know better and it's only $20.00 at amazon so I knew I got away with a huge bargain. To sum it up? You need this charger from amazon and avoid being ripped off by Apple and I definitely and highly recommend this item!

I bought this as additional charger for when I travel. The charger looks just like the original and works like it too. I love how the plugs fold away and the cord wraps for easy storage. The magnetic connection feels exactly the same as the original cord - will stay connected.I’m thrilled that I can just leave the original one plugged in, and I don’t have to climb under my desk and fiddle with unplugging it and then getting it all set up again. I’ll just keep this one in my bag.The cord is a good length - should be fine for airports and coffee shops.

I've bought this charger probably 3 or 4 times. Way cheaper than buying from apple or an electronics store. The only issues I've had with these are that they tend to overheat (like really bad). Otherwise they usually last anywhere from 6 to 12 months depending on how careful you are with it (I'm not particularly kind to my electronics

I have been unable to see any differences between my original charger which failed after many years of use - the cord failed where it left the case. I hope I will have to wait many more years before I see a similar failure with this one. With the new charger case that fits over the charger with an integral wrapper that seems to protect the cord much better I am hoping I have eliminated that problem.
